Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Ford don't add 2000% to their cars when they sell them in a small country.
Perhaps theres more to it than just feeding the numbers into the existing game? If not then its disgusting.
I think its dawning on me that I've really just bought a launch monitor not a device that can replace my old sim unless wgc is free?

Hogan when you buy a Ford Mustang with a Shelby version 4 option do you still pay the sticker price for the original Mustang? I think the price for that car is right at 3 times the money in any country. They are not talking upgrading the stereo here. This will make what you have now something you can use to simulate a round of golf on 56000 courses. If all I could use my simulator for was to hit balls on the range I would have sold it years ago. What ever they charge will be worth it. TGC is the best of the best. And only getting better with every update. What TGC has going for it is you only pay once. And the courses just keep coming and coming. Unlike other software that you have to pay every time you want new courses. And it has a course designer so even if everyone else stops making courses you can build your own. You can build your home course or your favorite course that other companies would not even consider building for you.
This is the way I look at it. If I want to play golf all year long I have 2 choices. Move to a warmer climate or buy a good simulator with good software.
The price of TGC=$xxx
The thrill of winning your first online tournament when it's 0 degrees and the snow is blowing= PRICELESS
Having already used TGC the choice would be clear for me. But if I had never used it I can understand your concern.
But I can promise you this my friend. You won't be disappointed. If you're looking for bang for the buck TGC is the answer.Protee

Appreciate your comments. Im sure TGC is good. But the answer to why they will charge in the order of $999 is because they can not because the development costs demand it. All businesses that follow this model are typically short lived.
When i put down my $2000 i didnt realise that I'd have to invest another chunk of cash to get sim functionality.

Everyone complains about the cost of TGC but the funny thing is it's the cheapest software. Once you look at E6, you'll say holy cow, that's a lot of money. My Courses:

Looking forward to the price, terms and conditions. Who knows maybe the ST/Protee/HBStudio guys are smart enough to figure out that an attractive combo price will fuel the sales of the Skytrak unit and therefore make more money for all invloved .
What I don't understand in this whole TGC setup is HBStudio's decision to give what seams to be an exclusive license to Protee.
Pretty stupid if you ask me. What they should have done is invested the very limited time required to release a simulator version on Steam for say 100$ more and just published the API to control the game. Including a way to feed in the whole trajectory and not only the ball/shot data. That would have created competition and potentially much better products.
Lucky for us there is an alternative in Perfect Golf. It's unclear what they will do for the simulator market but at least there is a theoretical chance they will explore the situation, I know I would.
As for ProTee's comment on the sim market being 100.000 times smaller. That might well be the case, but with the way the industry behaves with greed and short term strategies it will probably stay that small.
Building and selling a GC2 class LM for sub 1k$ is possible and pairing that with a TGC or PG sim version for an additional 100$ would most probably increase the market significantly.
I for one am "staying tuned ..."

Bzzzzt. Look at Apple. They charge what they can. The development costs of their products are probably way lower than what they demand. That's called value based pricing...Originally posted by MrHogan View PostBut the answer to why they will charge in the order of $999 is because they can not because the development costs demand it.
