Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

You could probably save the $250 for now and simply upgrade the video card in a few years. Chances are you won't be projecting 4k now since if you were considering the cost of a 4k projector the $250 would be insignificant. In 2-3 years I'm sure you will be able to spend $300-400 on a card that will be light years better than the 980TI.

Thanks for the comments/suggestions. Maybe I will save and just get the GTX970 then, since I won't be projecting 4K. I was just wanting to know in comparison of the two cards would the GTX970 ever render slow and glitchy and if the answer is yes, then I would be willing to spend the extra on the 980Ti to ensure no glitches. I love good quality and high graphics, but having a screen that glitches just drives me nuts! I want it to render smooth without issue!

The answer is yes, it will because even my GTX 980 Ti lightning does when I push the setting up at 1080p. 4K is a no go all together.
You will be fine with a GTX970 provided you are happy to lauch the game at high settings but select low graphics settings in game, things like trees draw distance and quality, and object detail etc. Pro Tee argues that these low settings are all that's required. I beg to differ.
It all comes down to how you like your games to look and play and only you can decide that.Last edited by HarryG; 11-09-2015, 07:15 PM.

Anybody have thoughts on this setup for TGC. I am not going to be fussy as stated above and am trying to make a laptop work. I know this is not ideal but is the only chance I have.- Intel Core i7-6700HQ Processor 2.6GHz
- Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- 1TB 7,200RPM Hard Drive
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M

Mike, there is also a GTX980 4GB. This is probably a +$100 investment. See if you can get a hold of it.Originally posted by Mike80 View PostThanks for the comments/suggestions. Just an FYI. Cyberpowerpc sells a Syber line of gaming PCs that are living room friendly (i.e., resemble the form factor of a set top box or traditional gaming console). I just purchased the Syber Vapor K for $1050 (after 5% off coupon you can find through Google). It includes a GTX 970. You can get a model that includes the GTX 980 for about $1300. This seems like a decent price for a pre-built gaming computer that's not an eyesore in the living room.

Keep in mind that both Cyberpowerpc and Ibuypower have absolutely atrocious reviews. Take a look at the star ratings for both Yelp and Consumer Affairs. Ignore the ratings from Cyberpowerpc (for obvious reasons).
Unfortunately it seems like all these companies put together PCs and don't fully test them to deal with most of the normal issues one might find. They also don't package them well for shipping. My recommendation would be to try and find a friend who knows how to build a PC (assuming you don't want to do it yourself). Buy all the parts from NewEgg and agree on a price to have your friend put it all together.
I looked into IBuyPower and just decided it didn't seem worth it to roll the dice. So many complaints and poor customer service just doesn't make it worth it.

ks-man - Interesting point on the negative reviews. I wasn't aware of those when i purchased my rig just a couple days ago. I did look at the Amazon reviews for their products, though, which seem fine vis-a-vis other PC retailers. See, e.g., http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...s=cyberpowerpc. There's a 30 day return window for defective products so hopefully there's an out if I run into issues.

Why can't one of the retailers chime in and offer a "Golf Simulator Forum" specially priced desktop that would meet the requirements of TGC? I for one would buy one and I'm sure there are a few more out there that would jump on the bandwagon as well. I personally don't want to build anything, just send me what I need and the only install I want is plugging it into the wall.Originally posted by Shardak View PostThat is a pretty good price. I built a system on Newegg with all the same components, it came to about $950. So $1050 pre-built is pretty good. Case is not bad looking either.

They never would. Too many variations, parts/model changes and they would be on the hook for support. They don't want any part of that business. There's not enough profit in PCs unless they marked them up to a high price. Somebody posted a good source to buy good gaming PCs. Cyberpowerpc sells a Syber line of gaming PCs and tower PCs. They look like decent prices. Just get one with GTX970 or GTX980 if you ever want to display 4K.
