  • SkyTrak and The Golf Club (TGC) Simulation Software

Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

  • Great offer and great configuration! The only thing that worries me a little is the power supply.
According to Nvidia the minimum power requirement is 600 W.

    Specs for GTX 980Ti (600 W) : http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desk...specifications
    Specs for GTX 970 here (500 W) : http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desk...specifications

HP does know what they are selling, so it must/should work with fine with a 500 W power supply...

    • I just bought the HP/Slickdeals PC and came here to post the same link. Returned my CyberPower PC setup that was an i5/GTX970 configuration for $100 more. I think the HP case looks nicer too, which is a bonus since my unit is in the living room. The one drawback about the HP is the ship date is 12/8/2015. Guess I'll need to use the iPad for a bit.

Don't worry. I'm sure you will have plenty of time to set it up in time for sim play😜 To be released I mean.

Good luck. I orderd a similar PC from HP in September and didnt get it until November.

    • Great find on this gaming PC. I've been pricing components and was ready to order parts and build my PC. This deal is REALLY GOOD! It has the GTX980ti 6 GB graphics card! My original build which was more than the cost of this only included the GTX970 4GB.

I upgraded a little and went with the faster processor and upgraded RAM to 16GB. Total cost: $1,163 plus I still get a 90 rebate.

I just bought this because I couldn't build one cheaper with the same components.

My only concern! The 500 watt power supply. Worst case, if the power supply sucks, I'll rip it out and put a 750 watt in myself!

But overall, great deal. Thanks for sharing this!

Here's the specs with my upgrades:
      • HP ENVY 750xt Desktop PC
      • 4th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K processor quad-core [4.0GHz, 8MB Shared Cache]
      • 16GB DDR3-1600 DIMM (2x8GB) RAM
      • 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 980Ti [DL DVI-I, HDMI, DP, DP, DP]
      • 500W Power supply
      • 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 6G Hard Drive
      • 7-in-1 Media Card Reader, 4 USB Ports (Top), Audio [Top 2USB2.0, 2USB3.0]
      • HP WLAN 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 MCard BT
      • No Additional Security Software
      • Home and Home Office Insert
      • Windows 10 Home 64-bit OS
      • Microsoft Office Trial
      • HP USB volume control Keyboard and USB Optical Mouse
      • Integrated Sound
      • SuperMulti DVD Burner
      • Total cost: $1,163 plus I still get a 90 rebate.

Thanks guys, I just purchased this, it is by far the best setup for the price. One question though, will you be able to update this system, such as a bigger power supply and maybe some sort of cooling system or fans, these type of components tend to produce some serious heat and I did not see any type of cooling system in the customizing.

        • The 500 watt power supply is my only concern. I'm not sure how much room is available but thinking I could squeeze in a bigger power supply if needed. Then you hopefully would have more power and connections to add any cooling fans.

But this seriously is a great freaking deal! It has a 6 GB GTX980ti. That card alone is almost $700 bucks for a name brand like this! I've been pricing components and to build this exact PC would be around $1600 bucks! Others looking for a good gaming PC should jump on this quick before they are sold out! Go out and try pricing a gaming system with a GTX980ti 6GB. Very pricey!!!

            Why are you sad?

        • So I started thinking whether I would be able to replicate my home course in the course designer.

First issue I see is that there is no way to have out of bounds within the game. Seems no matter where you hit it you can play the ball from there even if it's unplayable down a cliff face. Hopefully protee can say otherwise but I'm pretty disappointed, seems this is such a basic functionality missing that theres little point trying to replicate a course. Might as well just have fantasy courses, stick some gnomes and castles in.

@ Mrhogan have you found any videos about replicating courses ? I have seen one before I got TGC PC version. I was browsing around checking TGC out and came across a video where you saw a google maps image in the backround and the guy was tracing the outlines of that course. However now that I have TGC to check it out and get used to it to prepare for the skytrak release I can't find it anymore. I was browsing the HB forum and this one here but I can't seem to find a good video. Please let me know if you come across one. Or maybe Protee could help out as well.

I've watched quite a few on YouTube but couldn't find the OB one that protee pointed out, hence I was in the HB forums. Would be nice if the official ones were cataloged somewhere. Maybe they are?

The one I saw was not a official HB one. It was from one of the course creators. Wish I would have saved it !

        • MrHogan Here is a tutorial video on how to create out of bounds areas. FF to 0:42.

Guest thanks for the link to the post that accompanies the YouTube clip. It explains whats going on and has links to the transparency software. Ta.

            • There are many things that have been added for TGC simulation. The online play is awesome. The delay is less than a second seeing your opponents shot. Many new stuff are coming in the next update.

            • Is anyone in the know about an estimated release date for TGC? Online chat they wouldn't give up much but said NOT this year. It seems silly to buy a new power PC and sit idle for an indefinite amount of time. Surely prices will drop in the next 6 months if we are forced to wait.

Tell me about it, got my laptop and sim setup 4 weeks ago. Was under the impression that it will come out November.

            • hmm this course replication isn't as easy as it looks, in the absence of any sims to play i'll keep plugging away at it.

I started yesterday, that program to make the window transparent works like a charm but .......... this will be a loooooong project hahaha especially when your just starting and not used to all the buttons and there actions yet

            • So, they won't issue a release date. Fine. But surely they are able to tell us if it is their intention to release TGC for SkyTrak this year or not. Even if they could tell us that they are aiming for this year but can't guarantee it. Or even if they could tell us, 'Look guys, it won't be this year' then at least we could put it to rest for a while.

So come on SkyTrak and ProTee United, please throw us a bone or put us out our miseries.

In the spirit of Christmas, are we to start getting excited?
