Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

I do wonder what the current hold up is. I know it's waiting for skygolf to post on store. Is it a legal thing? or what? We want to give you our money. I have the day off and would be delighted but I'm not holding much hope for today.

me too... I am trying to block out, since, im guessing, we'll never know and any speculation will be meaningless. Think best we'll ever know is that its them, and not protee or Seth's company... but like you, I am curious. Maybe the delays are valid and value added (ie: additional testing), but with no information or feedback from that camp, its easy to let ones imagination take over and to make assumptions its because of poor management, indifference, incompetence, etc... Just hope whatever it is, it gets better (although not overly optimistic)...

So we all know we have no idea when TGC will finally be released. But in the spirit of entertainment anyone have any prop bets around the release?
Such as:
After release how many times in the first 5 days will people ask about pc requirements?
How many topics will be started making complaints of any kind about the release
How many times will we ask how to find good courses
How long will it take seth SkyTrak_Seth to create a new post about us needing to calm down and just enjoy the release and stop complaining about the small stuff
In the first 3 days how many reports of "my distance isn't right in tgc" compared to X software
How many TGC course pictures will protee post within the first 48 hours of release
And something about luv2golf and how he will be reincarnated within 3 days to state how the subscription model is rubbish and we should instead buy GC2s

I have to believe Skytrak just doesn't have the resources to get this done and that's what is causing the delays... while a private company it can't be verified, I would have to imagine they are struggling financially. Their core market, dedicated gps devices, has to be on hard times with the advent and increased adoption of gps enabled smart phones and low cost course gps apps... that likely means they've been steadily downsizing the last 2 years and seeing an exodus of top talent and have a staff that is over worked, transitory and poorly lead... All that being said, I have no actual facts.. Not a single one... But this is what happens when I can't distract myself playing sim golf...

So the question I keep asking myself is if it is worth getting this software when fully released. Playing WGT now which is fine but I know I will eventually get tired of it and want to take the next level. Problem is I do not have a PC (all Apple products) and have a hard time spending another $1000 on this game and another $1000 or so on a PC. Just not sure if it is really worth it. I
I have have an iMac 2012 version that is loaded to the max (3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 24GB 1600 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA Ge Force GTX 675MX 1024 MB) and running Parallels with Windows 7, but I am guessing my Graphics cards will not be strong enough plus read TGC does not work well (if at all) through Parallels.Last edited by John6577; 02-18-2016, 02:24 PM.

So, it sound like somehow my graphics card in the iMac will work. Just wonder if it will be choppy and can I get the level of detail that would look good. My other concern is running Windows 7 through Parallels. Read somewhere that there could be codec issues doing it that way. Sorry, I have some technical knowledge, but some of this is beyond my comprehension.

TGC will not work on Parallels or VMWare. You will need Bootcamp. See post #550 here: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...oftware/page37

SkyTrak is testing the store front today. This should be the final step (Huray!). TGC will be released when thats working.
As you know they will offer a TGC outright purchase and a TGC annual subscription.
Here is something to seriously consider when buying a subscription:- A subscription is the same as renting. You do not own anything.
- When you stop paying your rent, your game will no longer work.
- A subscription is non transferable.
- When you are not using the software you are still paying.
- You can not sell your subscription to someone else.
We posted some detailed info about subscriptions vs outright purchase here:
We get a lot of questions about the Subscription vs. Perpetual License purchase options for The Golf Club Simulator. Perpetual License If you have strong feelings

Ahh! I remember when I was installing TGC. I did feel like a kid at Christmas..... a spoiled kid that got exactly what he wanted. I have never gone back to the E6 demo or Red Chain. I feel that the Tour will suddenly become quite crowded. In the meantime, Go to YouTube and search "ProTee United B.V. They have a couple of instructional videos on how to navigate around TGC. Go to Tours and play the Q School tour. This will establish your handicap quickly. Welcome aboard.

One of the BIG advantages of an out right purchase is that if you decide to sell TGC (with or without your hardware) you know its transferable. Software does not get scratched or get damaged, so you will be able to sell it later for a good price (TIP!).

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Do you happen to know with the outright buy option if SkyGolf will still require an annual payment to keep the hardware unlocked to your software?

Their $99 package no longer states that it opens the door to simulation. If you can't wait for the real prices to be published, then you must assume it'll be the higher price at the very least. It wouldn't surprise me if they introduced yet another yearly package that was even more expensive.

As far as we know the $99 GIP is required to enable simulation in general. Without GIP you can not use 3rd party software.
