SkyTrak and The Golf Club (TGC) Simulation Software

Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Just a side not thanking Seth and ProTee for all the help during what I'm sure is a frenzy for them. I had a unique situation for TGC release and they were more than helpful in trying to get me through it. Will hopefully be up and running today!

As far as putting goes I'm interested in how accurate ît is. about a 5 or 6 feet Putt can you purposely miss it right or left by about 2 inches? Also any issues with aligning your skytrak do you have it aligned open to target line or parallel to target line or?

Search for flat putting green. You can test your alignment there on auto rewind. It's dead flat.

My distances seem really jacked at times........sometimes not......messed around at the range and was lacing 200 yd 7 irons.......in my dreams I could only do that.

Is there a boost setting or something I am missing?

I posted this on the other Skytrak thread (Introducing...) but see they are both going strong so I wanted to post it here as well. It might make sense to close one of the threads as they both seem to serve the same purpose.

Now that TGC is available for Skytrak, we are sure to get a ton of questions about courses. Keep in mind that of the 90k+ courses, most are crap. Of the good ones, many are not well suited for simulator play. Over at The Golf Club Forum I have two threads that are stickies. One is my TGC Real Course List and the other is my TGC Fictional Course List. I keep both lists updated (although I am going on vacation on Friday for a week) and try and use the exact name of the course. You don't have to enter the full course name but if you type in one word you at least know which course to look for (if you type in Sawgrass you'll know you want the TPC at Sawgrass (ProTee) since that is the one on the list). For the fictional list I try and include the best designed courses that have been shortened. If you are able to play courses at 7000 yards plus, you can just head over to the HB-Studios forum and keep your eyes on the Completed Courses forum. For the rest of us, I pull out the well designed courses that have been shortened for simulator play..

That simply the backspin not read correctly on that 200 yrd ..7 iron shot..take a look on that next time your dream come true..lol

Agreed on the putting, i actually made a 27 footer and 16 footer. Don't recall holing anything in E6 over 10'.
I have had no read issues, and no shots not detected.
Also, i didn't have any delay issues, it seemed the same amount of time on skytrak range and E6 software.
No issues with short putts either, my first round on amen corner i had to putt out and had putts inside of 2' and all registered.

Played TGC tonight. It was a lot of fun! Putting and chipping is great and very accurate. It's nice to actually be able to sink putts in. Putting seems to roll very true and I'm not getting the pushes right like I did in E6. Very happy with putting. Short chips worked great too!

I've been having No Read issues with my Skytrak. Where red laser stays and doesn't read shot. This issue continued in TGC. Also had to turn off my Skytrak twice withing 6 holes. After rebooting Skytrak I had to Exit the game, reconnect using Skytrak interface and then start game again.

Wish TGC had a way to reconnect the Skytrak without exiting the game. This is an essential requirement.

TGC needs multiple tee boxes. This is a must!

The delay was about 3-5 seconds. Longer delay than E6, and I have a high end gaming PC (i7 32GB RAM and 6GB GTX980ti graphics card). So disappointed about the delay.

Don't like how the Zoom goes past the hole. I know this issue is being worked for a future update.

This was funny, I actually made a 85 yard wedge shot that landed past the hole and back spinned in the hole. But here's what's funny. I watched the replay. During the replay the ball spun back and did not go in the hole...haha. So my real shot it went in and the replay it rolled on the edge past the hole...haha. Definitely a bug.

TGC Update I would really like to see:
- The shot analysis text is so small and hard to read. This should be fixed and organized a little better with larger font! I would think that would be an easy fix in an update. Just cosmetic.

OK...couple of questions now that several of you have played the released TGC and ST. Most of these are in comparison to e6, which with subpar graphics and the putting and chipping issues is actually super user friendly and intuitive.

1) Is it tough to find yardages and aim points on TGC without the side map of the hole?

2) Do you have to select your club for each shot?

3) It sounds like so many hotkeys can make the experience clumsy and cumbersome....thoughts compared to e6?

1-I use the E button I think, it brings up a mini map that has some yardages on it. However they definitely need to add the measurement and aiming stick to the regular minimap, that would be ideal. Like E6 does.
2-I only enter a club when I want to putt from the fringe or fairway. No club selection any other time. However I believe the scout cam goes based on club shown so if you want it to go farther/shorter, you need to change the club
3-I used very few buttons so not too bad for me.

Is there a way to change the green speeds (I found very slow on the few courses I tried yesterday) or are you stuck with what the course maker has designed?

As far as I know it doesn't matter what the designer does, the green speeds are always the same in the sim version. It only makes a difference in the pc version. I think this makes sense since putting on the sim is hard enough as is so being able to get used to one speed is better than a different speed ever time

Does Skytrak use an interface? With a GC2 you can add or remove boost on all clubs thus making greens faster. It's in GSX with a gC2. There must be a way

Here is a video of me attempting to hit a 6 inch putt. It never registers, skytrak laser dot never turns off. If I hit a little harder, 1-2 foot putt, it registers.

Not a huge deal, I will probably just change my settings to use gimmie's inside of 6 feet.

Not even we are able to register those. SkyTrak will not pick up these slow < 2 mps shots. Its a hardware limitation. Enable gimmies within 1 or 2 yards in the settings.

This happened to me the first time I loaded TGC up on a range too. Was hitting 7 irons 225 yards haha. Don't know if it was something with that range or what (it was a flat range) but I restarted my computer and skytrak and loaded up a course and distances were perfect again. So not sure why that happened either...haven't tried that range again yet (not even sure if I even remember which one it was)
