Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

I'm a new user and just installed the TGC software yesterday and attempted to use it today for the first time. My PC doesn't have the recommended graphics card, but I'm not worried about graphics quality yet. I just wanted to check out basic functionality today, but ran into so many connection problems that I never got to the point that a single shot was captured. Most times the connection dropped before the software got me to the tee box. The one time I got as far as the tee box and swung my club, the connection dropped soon after the Skytrak top LED turned red and the shot calculation started. I've tried with and without a USB cable, but the results are identical. It's hard in fact to even know if I'm connecting through the network or USB cable when the cable is in place. I don't have these problems with the Skytrak app running, only with TGC. Any thoughts? Please be gentle.

I did more troubleshooting and confirmed that TGC can only connect to the Skytrak through the WIFI network. I am unable to connect through USB. Is this a common problem?

I've been having No Read issues and connection issues with Skytrak dropping it's connection. I eliminated the WiFi by disconnecting from WiFi and Removing/Forget Device of the Skytrak that is saved in my WiFi connections on my PC. Now I only connect through USB so I know 100% that it's not jumping back and forth from USB to WiFi. I am using a 15 ft USB with no Hub, Extension or Booster. Just a single 15ft USB cable.
During TGC play, I lose the red laser dot and then I have to minimize TGC and then receive a Failed to Initialize error when trying to reopen the Skytrak Interface. I have to reboot my computer before I can get Skytrak to connect back. Others stated to hit the Z or X aiming buttons and it brings the Skytrak back. But this never works for me. I have to reboot my computer. Are others having this same issue? I'm thinking I have a bad Skytrak device that needs replaced

I'm having the same issue. Never had a problem with my Skytrak before, so not sure that's the issue. I had mine disconnect just as often connected via usb as wirelessly. I was able to minimize TGC and open the Skytrack interface, connect and then pick up where I left off probably 10 of the times this happened in about 3 hours. 3 times it disconnected and I got the "Failure to initialize" error. Then I had to close TGC and restart to get it to work. Anybody have any ideas?

I own SkyTrak and GIP package.
Can you confirm that the 995$ one-time package is enough to play TCG ?
I don't need any other software package ?
it is not very obious as it mentionned : "Purchase the TGC simulator package that best fits your needs." ; guess the package mentionned is one-time package or annual fee ?
other problem ; I need to buy another laptop as mine is not directx compatible.
I'm playing with projector. I guess a i5 laptop with a NVIDIA 950M is enough (looks like) to play at low details (projector).

Better bang for your buck is always to go full-size computer. Laptops are by nature compromises and expensive.
The 950M ranks 195th and scores 1,410 on Passmark. I use a GTX770, which is passe these days but it runs TGC fine. It is ranked 20th and scores 6148.
The GPU you are talking about will not run TGC.
Compare GPUs here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
Before spending any money better to check ProTee's computer recommendations here: http://csc.protee-united.com/hc/en-u...Club-SimulatorLast edited by aja; 02-27-2016, 04:29 PM.

Played another 18 holes.. My usual iron shot has a slight draw on a good hit and heavy draw if I force it. Range and ST app confirms it. However in TGC every shots seem straight. Only the general direction of the shot being accurate. Can I confirm if the side spin data from ST are sent to TGC for any shot shaping?
Also I find the green really rolls a lot. All my approach has to be short landing at the front of the font fringe to have any chance to roll near. I notice even on a 9k+ spin, the ball can't seem to roll lesser? Anyone with the same experience?

Played my first 9 holes at Riviera last night. Some observations:
Distances are spot on. Hit my drives around 250-260 just like outdoors. Hit a 153 yard par 3 with a 9 iron just like outdoors.
Putting is tough. I think I took close to 40 putts including a 6 putt on hole 1! That will get better in time.
Playing on Wifi had a lag 8 seconds on 95mb/s connection, usb connected less than 3 seconds. This is odd because earlier in week had less than 3 second lag on wifi using 2.2 Skytrak demo. Anyone else notice that a difference?
Commentator guy cracks me up. After I putt off the green on one hole he says "here's a pro tip. Get it back on the green" lol.
Anyways, just based on the accuracy of ball flight replication alone, I am super stoked with my purchase - it really completes my system.
Do you have to play 5 handicap rounds before you can play multiplayer? Hope not because want to start playing multiplayer right away.
Also was anyone else frozen out from posting last night? I kept getting message that I had to wait 33333 second before I could post again. Weird.

There was a time related issue with th site last night. All ok now.
Putting will get better. Pay very close attention to the breaks but also th uphill/downhill slopes. You will get better as you get used to it.
Do the Qschool to ge your handicap and join us on tour.
I have had better success with USB vs wifi connection, but that may b just me.

John ( the commentator ) said to me after I got a hole in one. " I am still reliving that last hole, amazing hole in one, don't get too cocky out there you know" I only shut him off when I am on the range. I find him quite entertaining. With each update he has more things to say. Welcome to the golf club, my name is John and I will be commenting on your round today.

Currently reading about 25 percent of my puttsOriginally posted by longhornlove View PostEither I don't have a clue or putting is terrible. In q school I can't find the option for gimmes. 3 to 5 putts on every green. I'm an 8 handicap in real life. On pace for 32 here.

I see that gameplay options are grayed out in Q school. So here is what you need to do. Change you settings to 2 yard gimmies while you are on a different course outside of Q school. The setting will remain at 2 yards the next time you load Q school. That should work unless Q school remembers what settings you started with. If that's the case. contact ProTee and they can manually adjust your handicap for you.

Woot..BenQ 1085ST projector arrived today. I have never used a projector, but it was dead simple. Just plugged in HDMI cable to macbook, and screen is mirrored. Didnt have to change a single setting.
I will be ceiling mounting the projector this weekend. Looks very good, bright etc. The grass, trees etc in TGC look very lush!
The NetReturn impact screen has not arrived yet, so I stole my wifes favorite "hotel quaility" bed sheet just to test it out (it is the only white sheet we own...hope she doesnt notice over the weekend. I hit one shot into it, and it sounded like a bass drum. I probably should hold off on hitting till the real screen arrives..I am guessing a ball will put a hole right through the sheet pretty quick.
I have will likely have it set at 1280x1024, as the netreturn is not wide. Its about 8 feet wide, 7.5 feet tall...so a square image fills it up better than 1920x1080.

>>Think it would play it?
It might. Best way to check would be to buy TGC in Steam and test it (in bootcamp). You can then refund TGC on steam as long as you play for less than 2 hours.
That GPU is probably better than what is in the Xbox One, and Xbox runs it OK.

Thanks Sharkdak!
Some weird things happening with posts. Looks like some may have been deleted & I couldn't reply to a post yesterday for 24 hours? Kept getting an error message...
Brettster I went with the Net return version. I kinda felt the same about the width. Really wanted to go wide screen. But I've determined that I can place my projector closer & still end up with a wide screen format; smaller picture over all & more letterboxed if you will. But it should still work on an 8' screen. If anything the actual picture should be sharper due to the smaller projected image. I'll have to play around with it. I was impressed with the image on the sheet that Sharkdak posted though! I might be able to live with the 4:3 format.
I think it plays 7200 which is silly for sim play....but amazingly similar to real life.
