Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Was there an update? Did something change?Originally posted by MainStGolf View PostPlayed two rounds in the qualifying yesterday and I didn't have a single phantom shot. WOOHOO! Also the irons seemed to be flying properly. Had just one shot that seemed a little long, but that's possible. I was using my old set of clubs with my old driver and the shot shapes were perfect "unfortunately" :-). Hit less than 5 straight ones :-(. One more qualifying round and I'm done!

No update yet, most of us are still experiencing issues that make the game unplayable.

The only thing that changed for me was playing two different courses on a different day. There were a couple of shots that hit the green that didn't hold, but they were with longer irons that I though may or may not have stayed on a real course. But overall the play was MUCH more acceptable during these two rounds. Hoping to play some more tomorrow. Don't think I will get a round in today.

Played 36 holes yesterday and am really enjoying the game. Probably had 5 or 6 shots that didn't register (and it always seemed to happen on one I felt I stuck really well...of course). Still getting a feel for the chipping, but the putting was much improved (in terms of feel). Going to try to get in 3 more rounds before the weekend so I get my HCP. On the plus side, my 2 sim rounds were quite similar to my real rounds.

Ok, So to get the TGC it really needs a desktop with minimum spec to even run it. can it be run wireless or are they wanting everything wired?. I do have a spare machine but I think it is AMD 6300 with 8gb ram.. crappy video card.. but it may work if I get a decent video card?..

I am using a laptop to run mine, however I have a high end gaming laptop with i7-4910 3.9Ghz processor and 8GB GTX880M and 32GB RAM with a SSD (well, it was high end when I bought it in 2014). I have no problem running in high specs. I don't think the machine you described will do it unless you do a full swap of processor, add RAM and upgrade GPU (imo). I guess what you can try to do is buy TGC with the expectation you will have to buy a computer to support, try it on your current machine, and if it works great, if not then get a new PC...at least you will know your total potential cost up front.

Thanks.. might look into a little more to see what I can work with and cost. Still kicking it around but TGC looks like its worth the cost just finding something to run it on once I get. I did see a video of a guy running TGC on a 2015 Macbook Pro with AMD m370x GPU but not sure how that compares to what I have as far as my Yoga 2 I5 or the AMD 6300

I think you might be fine with the PC you mentioned, just adding a new video card. My desktop PC is running a 5 year old core i7 CPU, and a Geforce 970 GPU and I can run TGC at 1900x1200 on high settings at 60+ fps. CPU usage is 20%. So I dont think CPU has much at all to do with performance.

Just played my first round and I have to say the designers did a hell of a job for the woods and rough as I usually spend most of my rounds there. Helps that I don't have to waste time searching for balls. Had a blast

Has anyone else received their forum rebate yet? I submitted an email requesting mine and asking if any more information was required beyond what I sent. So far I have not heard back or seen a rebate. Maybe Protee is waiting until after March 15 then will do them in one shot?

Played a round at PGA West 16. I don't think any approach shots held the green. Every shot that was a foot or two off the fairway was in "heavy rough". Even approach shots that 'should have' held the green, trickled off the green very reliably into 'heavy rough'. Are these virtual greens all this fast, or are there differences between courses?

I am assuming that you have a SkyTrak. If so, have you been following the forum about the issues with Skytrak and TGC?
There apparently is an issue with SkyTrak passing proper spin data to TGC.
Have a look here:

Hey guys,
I am new to the forum and tried to read through this entire thread, but not sure I got a 100% positive answer on the question I have.
Can you run TGC as a simulator using X Box One instead of buying a gaming computer? If so what are the advantages/disadvantages of going that route?
Hope to start building my sim in the next month and just want to make sure I do the best job I can.
Thanks

Can you give me a recommendation for full computer setup, only to be used for the purpose of the sim/TGC? I see that the Nvidia 970 GPU is the graphics card. At this moment I only have a surface pro laptop and know that this will not come close to running TGC. I am not even close to a tech savvy person. Wondering what cost I am looking at to get TGC up and running from a sim standpoint. Thanks for the help.
