Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

If I decided to buy TGC say in the next hour, I currently don't have SkyTrak's improvement package either, so if I buy both, will I get it today? Cause I have read how people don't get them outside TGC's business hours, kind of curious as to why it doesn't automatically just send even if you buy on the weekend?
-
The Sky golf part will be immediate, but there is a human element involved with TGC.
-
Ok, well from reading around here it sounds like I would have to download TGC and than I put the activation code and than I have to notify TGC and wait for the serial key? But that is sent manually from TGC, so I assume I wouldn't get it till Monday when they are back in office?
-
I am a newbie with TGC and Skytrak but have found both to be very responsive even on the weekends. I upgraded hardware which messed up my TGC software. I wrote them last night and had a new code within 6 hours. I can't complain about that!

It is just slightly above the stance platform. I tried different heights and this is the one I have the best results with. I'll try and measure and see just how far above it sits.Originally posted by Paul Field View PostGood score round amen corner. From you video it appears your sky trak is slightly above the mat. Is it level with your mat or above it.

You know it's funny but I seem to get most reads (least misreads) if I have my SkyTrak just a tad below height of mat (maybe to take into account the thickness of the bottom of my protective cover?). Did one session today and 27 holes of WGT and almost no misreads (of course I place ball slightly behind dot when using fairway wood and slightly in front if using sand or lob wedge and I don't putt at all).

Does it make a difference to the woods as I'm finding that I'm carrying my 3 wood 220 on the sky trak and driver about 240 which is about 20 yards shorter. With it raised do you find the carry distances are closer. Thanks

I'm new and just got both ST and TGC..... Maybe you guys can answer this for me. Is there a way to jump to a section of a course without having to play the previous holes... for example can you jump to hole 11 of Magnolia without having to play 1-10

Man - I'm ready to pull the trigger.. got the garage done. I'm going to get the net, skytrack and TGC in the upcoming month. sounds like fun. any reason not to do this?

The only reason maybe to wait on TGC is to see how the PG launch goes (assuming its soon). You might prefer PG over TGC. But you can buy both games on Steam for $20, test them on your PC and return them both. Its not as good a full simulator demo, but at least you could see what they look like.
I went with TGC and am very happy with it.
If you do buy, make sure to sign up for the Protee tour. Its extremely fun playing against others from this forum on a weekly basis: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...or/online-play

I measured and its about an inch higher than my hitting surface. Not sure what kind of impact that has on distance, but I get the same exact carry numbers, ball speed, spin, etc that I got on my previous GC2.Originally posted by Paul Field View PostDoes it make a difference to the woods as I'm finding that I'm carrying my 3 wood 220 on the sky trak and driver about 240 which is about 20 yards shorter. Protee, you were going to send me something to activate Boost functionality. How do we do that? I finally got to play outside this past weekend and confirmed that longer clubs are still short (20-40 yards on drives) on Sim. Boost would be helpful for sim play to make other club use more realistic. Thx

Anyone ever had this happen?......I'm not sure of the sequence of events, but on occasion, my ball tracer will stop showing when playing a TGC course. Sometimes it will randomly come back, but to really "fix" it, I have to back out of the round and come back in and continue.

I am....I see longer distances with driver on TGC, and less on Sky trak appOriginally posted by Tekbud View PostAre you seeing different results with your longer clubs/woods in TGC vs. Skytrak app?

Question about publishing a course. My son created and published a course in the PC steam version of TGC (he did it on our gaming pc, which is a different pc than what I have the skytrak plugged into); now I'd like to play it on TGC. I haven't been able to see it on the course list. Where is the documentation telling you how to publish a course? It looks like he's doing it right, so I'm a little lost. Also, how do you add someone as a friend? Having a hard time finding help on how to accomplish some basic stuff. ThanksLast edited by druid68; 03-29-2016, 06:18 AM.

The course doesn't show up on the sim version because the server holding courses is different between sim and non sim TGC.
You'll have to wait for the next Protee course sync for it to show up...or you can play it locally by copying the course file to your sim PC.

The sim version has its own server as Goat said. The servers sync every couple of weeks. Anything published on steam will show up after the sync. Anything published from the sim version of TGC goes directly to the sim server. If you don't want to wait for the sync you can also copy the course over to the sim pc and publish it there.
As for adding friends, you do it when starting TGC under profile I think. You see friends there. My Courses:

Yes I forgot you can just publish right from sim PC.
Also, for adding friends, mthunt's talking about the TGC Sim "start" window, the window that you click "start server", or something like that, and then click "play".
That's the place you'll find a spot to add friends.

Hi!! I just started getting crazy phantom shots but didn't change anything. TGC is almost unplayable now. It worked great for a month. I updated the firmware in the skytrak when it first came out and it has worked well this entire time until two days ago. Any ideas??

What is wrong with the putting? Are the greens too slow? Is it difficult to judge the break? Are you struggling to judge the distance? Is it just not accurate? Please be more specific as I haven't yet bought sim software and want to know more about the differences between TGC and PG. I've got TGC on PC and play with a mouse and the game is just really far too easy.Originally posted by longhornlove View PostGoing to start off by saying I love my ST and TGC however the putting sucks. Been playing for a couple of months and just come to the conclusion that I will never like the putting. The inability to read flop shots kills be around the greens.. The setup has really helped my ball striking.Last edited by TeaPeg; 04-05-2016, 07:45 AM.

So has it been confirmed that CG2 owners don't have an issue with putting speed in TGC? I thought I read it was the stimp setting. I assumed that this setting would effect all users regardless of the launch monitor they use. Maybe I got that wrong.
-
I agree with st_golfer's comment and was told by Protee that the next version of the interface would provide a fix for specifically this issue. As I've mentioned before I believe the current stimp for TGC and Skytrak to be ~6, which is a good deal slower than what the average greens play.
-
IMO, the putting, pitching, and chipping suck on TGC. I have tried to get used to it and just cannot get any feel for it. I end up having 3-4 putts because of poor chips, etc. which I would never do in a real round. Overall, its a fun product that I use more for improving my ball striking, but have given up on trying to score low.

I actually really like the putting on TGC it took me a few rounds to get the 'feel' for it but I find it now to be good, I don't really see how you could get a much better putting experience on a simulator, it will never be like outdoor putting but then most of us didn't buy a launch monitor to work on our putting.

I didn't like putting on TGC when I first got it. But I'm starting to figure it out. The best advice I got on TGC putting was actually very simple - play more break than you normally would. I've started making putts. Clearly sim putting will never be like real life but I agree with the sentiment above - TGC putting is as good as there is right now.Last edited by Mickey; 04-05-2016, 04:10 PM.
