Just got my copy of TGC and I've been using the ST range app for over a year.

I can connect the ST to the range app thru wireless but I can't seem to connect it to the TGC software thru wireless?

What are the steps to connect it thru WiFi?

    I'm currently doing this:

Turn on ST and open the ST range app. This connects
Then I go to the TGC software and launch the game.
Once I go into a game, I hit a ball and the top light goes red and the rest stay green and it never changes back.

If I go to the ST range app and start a new session, everything works but I can't get it to connect to TGC thru WiFi.

If I turn off the ST range app, the ST says it's not connected to anything.

    Please help!

Do not run the ST Range App. TGC will not work if another app is already connected with the SkyTrak.

Start TGC using the TGC for SkyTrak app.

1] Click CONNECT BOX (this will find the ST and connect).
      2] Click PLAY GAME.

Hoping someone can help me out here, just got TGC last week as a Skytrak user and trying to figure the software out a bit.
          1) Does the club selection icon I see on the screen in the top right make any difference to my shot result? Or can it just stay on one club the entire time?
          2) I see in the rough and sand it will give a percentage number in the top right of the screen. What does mean and what does it do to your shot? The range is sometimes big like 20-75% listed.
          3) Is there a list somewhere of keyboard shortcuts and what they do?

          Thanks!

            1) makes no difference
            2) pay no attention to that. See the specific lie percentage penalties here: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...stem-explained
--- one note on this: the sand penalty messed me up for awhile. If you are 30 yards out and in sand, hit as though you are 45 yards out. So you add 50% to the distance. Initially I thought you should hit it like it was 60 and 50% of that would get you to 30 and as a result I flew too far several times before figuring it out.

Mild quirk with TCG. When I press the Q button to scout the hole layout, sometimes I forget to hit Q button again and I'm stuck not seeing how the ball is traveling until it hits the ground. Is there a button or setting I can do to prevent this from happening?

I've been having the Skytrack for 6 months now and will be purchasing TGC soon. It says offline play is limited but can someone expand on this? Do we know if it is possible to download courses to play and then have access to them while offline?

My setup is in an outdoor shop that has access to internet when the bay door is opened up but very spotty service when the door is closed. With winter coming up the door will be closed most of the time so I'm interested in knowing what I'll be able to do with no internet. I plan to add a more stable internet connection solution to the shop in the future and depending on what I can do will determine how soon we get that installed.

You can play without an internet connection but only on 15 courses. You will also have 1 range available. TGC requires internet to access the 100,000+ course database.

everything works in offline except friends and a lot of the courses are not there. It's meant to be online. There's like 100 courses or so offline. They are HB courses I think

That changed in version 3. Now there are only 15 courses. Pretty sad but at least they are all Sim suitable now. I wish we could additionally save our own favorites for offline.

There is a driving range now too. From one of the most famous TGC designers (!) so that's good. Although I personally like RDH's edge ranges (Autumn Accuracy being my favorite).

It used to save the last course you played I think. Does it do that faulty?

Don't think so. I've been kicked into offline mode and just wanted to finish my round (didn't care about any of the online stuff) but it wouldn't let me. The course disappeared as I recall.

The bottom line is it should be played online. It's far better.

Unless you can't, then it isn't.

Even then "far better" is highly debatable since beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

But really the bottom line is it should have a good offline mode for the times it is needed or desired. I still hope someday we'll be able to save our favorites to offline mode.

This might be a stupid question, will network mode through ST link directly to your computer over wifi? Or will I have to in some way utilize a usb cable plugged directly into the CPU?

Similar to how ST works with their app without any plugs, will ST work with my CPU over the wifi network and transmit shot data etc?

                  Thanks!

As long as your computer and Skytrak are on the same wifi network you will be fine without an USB cable.

Thanks dude. My computer is hardwired into my router (which runs my wifi) so the assumption is, all will be well. Thanks for responding

Just make sure they are on a 2.4ghz wifi network and not a 5g and you'll be fine.
