How easy is it to alternate between left and right handed play. Could you play a round alternating between left and right handed players. Do you need to re calibrate when switching

Would it be possible to have a setting so that the right handed player could play the entire hole and then when it was the left handed player they could play the entire hole? That way you would only need to move the Skytrak once per hole instead of moving the Skytrak back and forth on almost every shot.

I'm hoping to get my Skytrak soon and have 1 lefty friend , I've seen on a Gc2 thread that some guys have tried playing left and right handers without moving the unit just one person standing on the wrong side to hit.
The Skytrak unit looks smaller and set up slightly closer to the ball than Gc2 - The guys with a Skytrak do you think its possible to hit from say behind the unit without moving it for mixed handed play and if it is would ball flight still register ok (guess it would ).

Shot will probably register just fine. Problem is how comfortable it is to swing and stand on the same side as the unit.
Make a test. Take a box that is 20 x 17 x 6cm and place it 7cm in front and 31cm behind the ball position as seen from RH players point of view.
Then take a few clubs and swing away as a lefty. I would say no it's not OK but it's a matter of opinion, not a fact.

Is there any reason the until could not be placed in the center of two mats (space permitting) and then placed on a turntable? This way it would be level and the turn table could even have positive stops built in so that the until would always rest at the same spot each time it is moved. Would this cause any alignment issues?

So I'm a lefty and all my buddies are right handed. It's going to pose a problem. Standing over the unit is not an option unless you have a really deep room and a deep mat. The only feasible way I can see for this to work is to place green painters tape on your mat for each dexterity. Ensure tape is aligned correctly. Hopefully both sides are at the same elevation front to back and side to side. To me that's the only way manually to make it work.
I did see somewhere a link for a track that will move the skytrak like on a train. It was the same place where we were talking about different hitting surfaces (sand, rough, ect. in one mat). Forget which thread that was in.

Thanks davray, i'm building a cardboard model as i type ..productive afternoon at work
.
Wise, i guess a turntable would work but you both wouldn't then being hitting at the centre of the screen i guess for simulator purposes ,don't know how this would affect the feel of the setup .

TGC will do that for you. You will still need to turn the unit around manuallyOriginally posted by davray666 View PostThat would require that the ST unit can be switched from RH to LH player automatically by the sim software. Not sure if that will be possible.
The ST unit needs to know and for the range app that is done via the menu.

It's not as bad a one would think. My son is left handed. He and I play and it's just a matter of making a mark (I use tape) and setting the unit along the tape. the alignment is not that crucial. I am pretty sure I don't line up to the unit 100% square every time I swing? I also think the new firmware update includes a tilt and roll correction so the unit don't even need to be 100% level. Or at least the firmware I tested with had it.
I try and get the unit aligned as good as I can. Mark the stance mat with tape along 2 sides 90* to each other and do the same thing on the other side for my son and away we go. There may be issues with how I do it but I am man enough to admit my skill level can't detect any issue's.
The only thing I don't like is the cord. I am always afraid it will come unplugged. I wish it was a regular USB with a little more positive lock. But so far(knock on wood) no issues with that either.
