So anybody know when/if there will be something from Perfect Parallel coming for us to try in the near future? Patiently waiting or something decent to surface!
Perfect Golf (beta) for Skytrak

I don't know anything about this game stuff...but don't both PG and TGC use the same Unity 3D engine? If so, why does TGC need so much more horsepower?

TGC uses Unity 4, PG uses Unity 5 (I think). That may be part of the reason.Originally posted by FaultyClubs View PostI don't know anything about this game stuff...but don't both PG and TGC use the same Unity 3D engine? If so, why does TGC need so much more horsepower?
I think the main reason TGC performs so bad is that it renders the entire course at all times. This was touted as a feature to eliminate load times. My guess is that PG only renders one hole at a time, thus requiring far less GPU.

I also assume that to be the case. Unfortunate for the user base, since PG and TGC are the ones that everyone actually wants (although e6 would probably be a front runner if the graphics were better or if it were much cheaper). It would certainly be nice to get BETA access to PG or TGC, though.Originally posted by JohnMeyer
I believe there are probably contractual issues with WGT and possibly Trugolf E6 as "official" partners , so guess they have to launch first, and TGC seems to have been thoroughly tested, would hope to have heard more PG news, and if not happening SkyTrak_Seth need to add some more. Sure they wont be short of volunteers

I'm just assuming pricing will be the same as for other hardware:
Industry-leading indoor golf simulators for home, office, & training facilities by TruGolf. Learn how you can start today!
If e6 subscription were to come out, that's a different story, of course. It would certainly keep me busy until PG or TGC are released.
(right now I'm not busy at all since my sim room is now soaking wet due to a basement leak that I have to deal with. Open checkbook, pour out money... LOL!)

yeah, but it sounds like e6 cloud is now delayed until at least October of next year.

The video of the GC2 and PG has been moved to the correct thread, but if you want to see what PG looks like, and will probably be roughly the same for ST, but with more delay.

I like the video and it is better than WGT for sure. The graphic seems to be close to E6 but what I'm really missing is all the ball data. Ball speed, launch angle, spin numbers.... It only shows carry and total distance. Also I didn't see club selection so I'm guessing it doesn't keep club stats ? Like I said, better than WGT for sure the rest (E6 and TGC) we will have to see. They will have to change some stuff to beat them !

JohnMeyer , I've been in contact with various companies and I have found that beta testers are chosen by Sporttrak - SkyTrak_Seth. It appears that they have the people they want testing involved and that's just the way it is. I know that a company has asked skygolf/sporttrak if they could refer testers and the response was........'we have our own'. Take that as you will.Originally posted by JohnMeyer
Not sure on a demo, but even without a demo, they game currently only costs $20 as its early access. Not sure hows its going to work regarding full release version. I bought it orginally when was going to get an ST just in case, There must be a BETA version of PG for Skytrak out there as seen a couple of guys (Par2pro i think) testing it. Not sure who else has access but if the BETA is not being tested properly by the current testers, or testing is too limited it would surely be beneficial to allow more people with an ST to test it. I cant imagine there is a forum with more ST owners on it than this one, and as TGC BETA is pretty much done it would seem, I woulve hoped to see more info about the PG BETA. Perhaps if the testers were also TGC testers theyre working on that still, and PG getting left out, I dont know.

Secondly, It's very appearant that the people involved in skytrak with pg are not even close to being as motivated as the guys are who are involved with GC2 and PG.
This is very dis heartening that they won't ask others who would love to get this product to market, instead they just want to live in their own little bubble. Gonna suck when that bubble bursts.

I notice that there is an option to select 'simulator' as an input device in Perfect Golf on Steam. Hmmn, I wonder if.....
Anyway, looks like things are really starting to heat up and the pricing structure looks very competitive.
I've just been playing the Steam version of PG through the PC and it has some nice features found in E6 such as the overhead map view where where you can drag and drop your aiming marker on the fairway and get your distances from ball to marker and marker to hole. The aiming marker can be moved around the course in the standard view as well using a mouse so no need to aim left or right with the keyboard which is nice. There are no graphics in the middle of the screen when you are looking down the fairway which I found slightly distracting in TGC. All you see is the course in front of you which I prefer. If I were to play on a projector I'd be tempted to leave the view stationary during the shot with no follow camera as I feel this game could do a great job of immersing you.
In terms of performance, I was able to get 75 fps average with everything maxed out at Ultra HD (4k) resolution which means you wont need powerful rigs to run it smoothly. In terms of the graphics, they are far superior to E6 and very pretty. Not quite as nice as TGC but visually they are current generation. The physics and feel of gameplay are very impressive. The ball reacts just as you'd expect and although I can't place my finger on it, it feels different to TGC in a good way.
The game is rough around the edges with a few glitches and bugs noticeable and if you're looking for a polished article then PG isn't there yet. The devs are working very hard on this game judging by the regular updates and activity on Steam and Facebook. They are constantly adding features and improvements and keeping the community in the loop.
If this is $249 a year it's a no brainer for me! Here's to healthy competition!
