  • SkyTrak Game Improvement Package

This is great but i'm a little worried about my initial game improvement package purchase. I was on of the first orders (pre ordered October of last year) and included the game improvement package. No where was it listed as a subscription and I also had this confirmed through an online chat with a skytrak rep that it was a one time fee. Reading this I don't know what to make of it or why I was sold something under false pretense. I'm a huge skytrak fan but this worries me.

I just noticed a conversation on Skytrak's twitter page where somebody was asking about the Game Improvement Package. Skytrak's response made it sound like the $100 fee needed to be paid each year?

Somebody asked "Do I have to pay the $100 every year or did I hear wrong?"
Skytrak's response was "Yes it is a subscription add-on...."

Maybe I missed something but based on some earlier posts I was under the assumption that the $99 fee was a one time payment (below is one of those posts). Does anybody have a concrete answer here?

So after going around and around with the live chat and finally getting the first guy to talk to the supervisor. The $99 game improvement is a one time fee, not a subscription. Even though the first person I was talking to thought it was a yearly fee.

I was just talking to another higher Advanced Technical Support member and he just told me that
Skytrak: the $99.99 payment would be just one time and you will be able to use always
Skytrak: I am sorry, that was the information that i had
    Skytrak: you were correct sir

$99 is a yearly subscription. I will follow up with the customer support dept.

Now I'm just confused. At no point when I ordered was there ever a mention of a subscription fee. I ordered back in October. I then talked with multiple customer service reps both on the phone and live chat and got confirmation that it was a one time fee?

Here is my receipt as well. I'm hoping this will help as nothing on this says subscription, just the game improvement package. The only subscription that has a term in box groove for 1 year

Seth, as you know I was the very first person to get my skytrak and I also ordered the game improvement package with the exact same receipt as "smacc" I was never under the impression that the game improvement package was a yearly subscription. If E6 or any other software that has a practice mode with a driving range comes out before my renewal date would this not negate anyone from renewing?

I would think this may need to be looked at again form Skytrak's view, many of us early adopters it seems were under the same impression.

Can someone explain to me since the skytrak has been launchedto now, what the game improvement package has given us, apart from 12 golf balls ?

It is listed under 'SkyTrak Subscriptions' on the website, but I can see where the confusion is if it is not labeled (1 year) on the invoice. Let me dig into this.

But to answer your last question, it's not so much what has been given to you, but rather what hasn't been restricted from others as we firm up new features in the app and on SkyGolf360. That is about to change. Finally, we are aware of this as an issue and are working to make sure that everyone who did buy the subscription during this early adopter phase is taken care of.

You don't have to go under "subscriptions" to buy a Skytrak with the Game Improvement Package. Go to the Skytrak website. Click Shop. Then click on Skytrak. Then click on Skytrak with Game Improvement Package. When you add this to your cart and purchase there isn't anything that suggests the additional $99 is an annual fee. Please run through this click sequence yourself Seth and tell us what you think. I don't see how this could possibly be interpreted as an annual fee.

But to your point about the subscription page on the website- if you do go to that subscription page and click Game Improvement Package it doesn't say anything about an annual membership. The only mention of 12-month memberships on that page is in relation to the golf-magazine subscription.

Till this point anything that it offers anyone can get through the app, which is why many people didn't pay that, also I don't understand why they would restrict certain things like the closest to hole, I personally just use the range option, but doesn't seam enough to warrant $99

I think they should start trying to incorporate people's ideas if they going to charge an annual fee. All I really want to be able to do is the range and be able to change temp and elevation. It can't be that difficult to add some of the features people wanting, deleting shots and adding a centerline or when highlighting shots in the history to have those shots be used in the averages for clubs. Or if doing a closest to pin or target practice to be able to adjust temp and elevation.
