I agree when you put the numbers into flight scope that's what it comes out too. The problem is with the backspin the driver I got fit for my spin was 1900. St has been around 2000 to 2500 up untill a week and half ago. Before it started acting up it was not picking up shots I had to keep resetting it.

Don't see it mentioned, but you may want to uninstall the app from both PC and iPad, reset the unit and see if it fixes it. Never seen what was shown in your second pic.

The second photo shows a reading/calculation that is obviously an error. Is this a frequent reading or just a rare outlier? I see a really weird driver result every once in a while, especially with a worn ball or when I don't align the ball logo with the camera. For those misreads, I always see very high spin rates (e.g., 8-11K) and the other readings are way off as well. My usual driver spin rate is 1900-2200, so any reads over 4-5K on shots with a normal ball flight are misreads for me.

If you frequently see the kind of results in photo 2 and resetting everything doesn't help, you should definitely check with ST.

I wish Skytrak would have an instruction manual showing set up.

I no longer think I have a bad unit. I just spent a week in Cabo and tracked every drive with gps. Depending on down wing into and down hill I was anywhere from 260 to 300. I had to be sure in the real world. I went back through a number of posts about allignment, ball position and if the unit is level. After your suggestions on placement I sey ST at level with the top of the tee and the ball about an inch and half in front of the ball. All the numbers seem to be pretty close now. I wish ST had a detailed faq or very detailed set up page with pictures. Thanks for all your advice. LT

Level with the "TOP" of the tee NOT "bottom" of the tee as per SkyTrak instructions? Wow I've never tried that but will def try if it helps w more accurate driver distances.

I had it top of the unit level with the top of the tee

You mean "bottom" of the unit level with the top of the tee right?

I tried this at driving range with driver and yes it seems like distances better (i.e., less short) w unit higher than mat for driver shots - I wonder why though?

Yes just make sure you use the level. I am not sure why ST tells you to put it at the bottom of the tee and whe you are hitting irons you put the ball on the dot. To me it made sense to get it close to the same

I just tee it up an inch behind dot. It seems to read 155-163 easily. I don't mess with the unit height for driver.

Thinking about it, actually, I can see a situation where raising base of unit above top of mat might matter - i.e., if you tee it really really high, have fast ball speed (so must place tee and ball a few inches behind laser dot to capture the shots) AND have a fairly high launch angle (i.e., 18-22 degrees) with your driver, then I can see that in this particular situation if you don't raise your unit a bit the camera might not be able to capture the second picture as the ball might be above FOA of camera?

The SkyTrak guys did exactly that with a long drive guy who was showcasing a unit last year for them, for that exact reason.
