  • TGC rebate deadline is today...what to do, what to do..TGC or wait for Perfect Golf?

Is anyone else in my shoes right now pondering whether to plunk down the cash or wait for Perfect Golf?
I want to buy it but the conversion to Canadian $ is brutal right now.

    Opinions?

I am in the same boat. Though am leaning more towards PG. $250 a year for golf simulator software is more reasonable to me. Plus PG just seems more realistic.

Personally, I'm waiting for PG regardless of the discount or not. In the grand scheme of things, $100 off isn't gonna make or break any of us.

depends on how much 100$ costs you, right now sounds like there are multiple users having issues with tgc. you save 100$ to have those issues resolved or you wait is the real question i guess..

at the end of the day what does 100 bucks mean to you. personally i would probably go to tgc, only because if you get 4 years of perfect golf you just bought tgc.

Will tgc look like the red chain graphics in 4 years? What is the life cycle for golf sim software? Will there be a tgc 2.0 in a couple years that isn't compatible with this version?

The graphics in Perfect Golf will likely evolve better over time. The quality and realism of how it looks are very dependent on the skills of the creator and the level of detail in the textures. Just look how some of the courses created for Links 2003, that were made more recently, look just as real as the modern Perfect Golf courses. As the creators become more and more adept at using the software, they will create ever more detailed courses. I'm not convinced the TGC course creator will have as much user control over the texturing and customization as Perfect Golf does.

My concern is PG launches in 2 week with a cheaper outright purchase price and better graphics to boot.

2 weeks from when? It's the same waiting game for all of them.

Cheaper may be, better grfx questionable, two weeks impossible.

I'm waiting for PG, Anything to avoid buying a computer just to use for a simulator is nuts. I hope the PG is easier to sync than WGT. I seem to have a lot of problems with it.

It is going to be a long wait.

It'll only come down to whether or not you want to play sim golf now and if you have the $ and computer for TGC? If so, I don't think you will be disappointed in getting TGC. If you don't need it now, then wait and see what the user reviews have to say about PG. All of them release something and then continue to make improvements.

I bought TGC last night. The 100 bucks was nice. I built my computer from scratch for 510 after rebates. I went with AMD 6300, GTX 960, 8GB memory, 750w power supply, 120 GB SSD hard drive and Windows 10 professional. I have no experience with computers and it was fairly easy with help from YouTube. Computer runs TGC great on high settings. I was on the fence and now I'm happy I did it.

I already built a PC with an i7 4790k and Nvidia GTX970 in anticipation for TGC but I'm a little skeptical given all the problems people have had

Keep in mind that with TGC you own the software and can resell it later, ie equity. PG is a rental that's has no ownership yet.

Bubba22 is that really true? Can you buy TGC say on a Protee platform and later make it available on skytrak? I don't think so, especially after security wrapper.

Protee has stated in the past that you can sell/transfer it to any simulator that is compatible with TGC. Doesn't matter if it's a different platform than your own.

Protee may be ok but how about Skygolf. I am sure they want money.
