Just as well, the 1000 spin is just a placeholder because the interface hasn't been properly configured/programmed...

Anybody - does the shot show up properly on the sim image, notwithstanding the spin 'data' that is shown?

I dont think it shows up correctly on the image either, as when im trying to hit a flop shot or a bump and run the ball will fly through the air at different heights but once it hits the green it will roll the exact same way no matter what, so something has to be off there.

I also find myself hitting a decent amount of pins when chipping as well (not to mention when I play on the tour at least 3 or 4 times a round I hear a ghost ball hitting a pin or someone chipping in, seems like a little much), so that makes me think that the 0 sidespin and 1000 backspin is actually what it is reading and is a big issues to the accuracy of the short game.

You can see in my videos that the spin numbers actually vary as they should when chipping off the tee, but once i get up next to the green its this same thing over and over again (so wouldnt see why they would have a default display for the numbers just around the green). And im surprised more havent come out to notice this as well, since both of the youtube videos I posted of other skytrak-tgc users and all the videos ive watched of chipping around the green (with skytrak) had the exact same thing happen when chipping, so i think it more wide spread then we may realize.

Yea it has definitely worked correctly on the skytrak app and even on the tee in TGC, but just not around the green for some reason. Ive tried switch back and forth from normal to chipping mode as well and if I switch it to putting mode on my own (without it automatically setting me in that mode) when I chip it will fly in the air normally and when it hits the green it will shoot across it like a putt and the sidespin and backspin with both be 0 for for all the numbers. Then when I switch it back for normal mode I get the 0 sidespin and 1000 backspin from the fridge and 0 sidespin and 900 backspin from the bunker.

Ok, thanks. The first is the correct behavior as we do not report back spin for putting. But the second is really good info that have, thanks!

I really hope they get this spin issue figured out because I just did the q school, my first 5 rounds on tgc. Every shot inside of 50 yards absolutely killed me. Balls ran all over green and no checking up what so ever. I'm still trying to figure this out and played a good 20 strokes worse than my on course average.

      Enjoying it other wise though!

What happens when you take a full swing when you are in that yardage area that creates this 0 side spin and 1000 backspin straight shot? Use any club but just a full swing. Do you still get the same spin results?

That's another one the weird things, ive tried taking full swings in that position and it will not read the shot at all, Ill take 10 full swings with no read, the laser never even goes off. Then when I go back and hit lighter shot (pitch or chip), that will read every time but just those same 0 and 1000 numbers. And ive tried this on wifi, usb, putting and normal modes tons of times in the last few days. It almost seems to lock you into hitting some sort of small shot and wont read if you try to hit a full shot again. Very strange. I suggest anyone seeing the same numbers when they chip to rewind and go back and try to take a full swing from that spot and see this

HB Studios or Protee should give you some kind of special in-game avatar for all the bug finding and detective work! Good job with all this info, I hope they fix this soon.

I have always had my options set to not display the shot info window after each shot, and I rarely pull it up, so I only noticed this recently. I would not doubt if this has been happening since day 1.

I think its a possibility this is some kind of feature gone wrong. Like a penalty for bad lie near the green.

Haha thank you very much, an avatar like a wrench or something world be hilarious. But having a simulator is pretty much the best hobby/thing ever. There's no doubt I'm gonna put the time to see everything I can and hope to give some helpful info to the guys running the show if I notice something. I do trust they will figure out some sort of fix and hope the videos and all help pin point it for them to make it quick and easy if possible. Im sure they are working hard over there as we know they do

And obviously more then willing to give any more info or test anything out if there are any suggestions from portee or anyone..... In protee I trust

              Ok, another question.

You stated that when on the tee box or other places you can chip and those short shots will record correct. Do some short chip shots that only go 10 to 20 yards from the tee box.

Take note of where they hit your screen and compare to what the unit shows for off line.

Are the short 10 to 20 yard chips that go straight in real life matching what the unit sends for it's read? I am wondering if the unit can actually send the correct data with the low speed shots or if it will throw in the odd off line that was actually straight. Then aim a bit left or right and see if those are picked up right.

I'll test the offline and straight chips again later tonight again, but believe they were all reading the offline numbers correctly from there. If you look at the video I posted 'chip spin worKing correctly from the tee' it may be tough to read the numbers perfectly in the after shot screen but I can definetly see on my original video that for example the 3rd chip I hit therei had accidentally pulled a bit and along with the backspin reading a correct 1148rpm, it also says side spin is 147rpm, spin axis 7.4 and below all that is days ball path is left 2 degrees. If you look at the numbers from around the green it says always says 1000rpm and 0 for all those other categories other then ball path which seems to read correctly if you hit it a few degrees left or right. So based on that it looks like it's working correctly from the tee box for spin and accuracy and not so much around the greens

The new release will have a setting option build in especially for you! Its called: Short Chip Correction. Turn it OFF or ON to see what works best for you.

Serious question...If Short Chips need to be corrected, why would anyone leave it off? It seemed like this issue was a legit bug that hopefully you guys have found and fixed, why allow a toggle to use the buggy behaviour?

Because its not a TGC bug. Its a limitation of the hardware. Some will see short chip issues more than others. There was a post from doublebogey today about 8 chips in a row not launching in WGT. Well thats the issue...

Super appreciate in the fix in any fashion, but just curious how it is a hardware limitation if it seems to work correctly from the tee in TGC, and also on the skytrak range app I get accurate numbers as well for the chips? Im sure there's a lot of technical stuff behind it that I don't get, so may be beyond my understanding. But honestly don't care too much, just super pumped there is a fix coming and this quickly too! More then happy to use the toggle, my only concern with that was the other users may not realize it (like turning on the wind when we had that set up in the tournaments), but im guessing everyone on the tour has to have been on this website obviously and it will get to everyone that may have an issue, im sure the next TGC update release post when it comes out will be a big one for the TGC users and everyone will hopefully catch it. Thanks again!

Ironstrokes, this is with really short soft chips/flops from within 30 feet of pin. I believe Seth told me that SkyTrak putting mode will pick up these types of shots better than regular mode. So I guess turning ON this Short Chip Correction activates the putting mode - is this correct @ProTee United?

SkyTrak_Seth, when do you expect this feature to be implemented in WGT as discussed? Literally just did 20 straight chips today w/o registering - back is killing me!

If might be nice if putting mode reported backspin, as far as chipping is concerned. Using putting mode is the only way I can get really short chips to register, but then the spin is 0 and they roll forever. That would probably screw up putting, so I guess a chipping mode would be required.

In addition to the short chip issues I'm experiencing as well I am also having problems with tgc picking up my full 60 degree shots? This is a 80-85 yard shot for me. Yesterday playing tournament I hit the same shot 10 times with no luck then pulled out my 54 and hot it 15 yards past green but shot registered.

It works on skytrak range but not when using tgc.

                      Anyone else have this happen?

This is the same issue I have with my 59 and 64 degree wedges. Any type of full swing is not picked up. If you skull or chunk it however that picks up just perfectly! Haha.

Yeah and after you take 10 good swings trying to get it to register you either skull or chunk one and like you said it reads it!
                    Working...
