There a "putting mode" in TGC that is not in the skytrak range app. It will read the short chips but not as accurate as it should/could be. SkyTrak_Seth gave some hints they are working towards some sort of "super putting mode" on one of the threads here that is supposed to make it even better. Im anxiously awaiting that to come out to give it a go and test it out. But thats the reason it reads in TGC and not the app

That's pretty much it. Except it's "smart putting mode" not "super putting mode". That's just me in real life - "dang, off that side...crap, off the other....back again"

Does the smart putting mode also work in JPNG for soft chips?

So... how do you physically change the settings.. delete and overwrite by typing it in?

No one has tried the smart putting mode yet other than skytrak themselves and no details given to us about it yet either.

If I had to guess I think it would work with jnpg. I get the feeling its something that may actually work on the official skytrak range app and maybe they will make it so you can practice chipping and all there too..... if they get it to work as well as the hope. But again, this is purely just guesses from me.

        SkyTrak_Seth updates on this?

TGC has it in place, WGT is actively working on it now, I will discuss with JNPG to see what if anything they need to address. I need to add a new feature to the SkyTrak app before I make it available in there. Am planning on doing that after this upcoming release of v2.6.

if adding the feature to jnpg is discussed, please recommend a user-toggle rather then yardage threshold...or a user selectable option for each.

I agree with Thinman. Wish it was a user option in TGC.

I have both TGC and JNPG. Chipping is "easier" in TGC, which helps scores. I don't know if it is more realistic or not. Chipping out of the rough on JNPG seems to be more penal than necessary as far as spin goes, but I don't play on courses with severe rough, so maybe it's more realistic than I think.

To me putting is far and away better on JNPG than TGC. It's far more accurate again IMHO.

I guess all of this stuff boils down to personal preference at some point. To me if I want the most realistic indoor golf experience be it from looks to play I'm choosing JNPG. But I'm not giving up TGC or giving up on TGC either :-). I'm glad I have both.
