Skytrak and Macbook

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, currently thinking about setting up a hitting net in my room and also close to pulling the trigger on a SkyTrak. So I figured this would be a good time to join this great forum and get some advice. I was wondering if it was possible to somehow connect the Skytrak to a Macbook Pro or any other Mac computer (without having to run Windows on it). I tried a forum search but wasn't really too successful. I don't really understand why it shouldn't be possible and would rather not spend another several hundred dollars on a new Ipad.

Any help or reference to upcoming firmware/software updates is greatly appreciated.

I don't think you can run it on iOS (other than the iPhone/iPads). You are pretty much limited to iPad/phone and PC. If you already have a newer mac you could consider running windows...I think you have to shut the computer down and then boot up and select which operating system to run. That might be cheaper than a new iPad. Of course there are probably stand alone pc's that you can buy for around the cost of an iPad as well.
The mrs wants an iPad for the kitchen and cooking recipes so I am leaning toward an iPad Pro at the moment. That said, I have a 42" tv that's begging to be hooked up to a dedicated PC...

Thanks for the answers. I have an Iphone 6s but was afraid that the lag was going to be unbearable.
Any experience witht that?
Does anybody happen to know what the problem is with Mac computers? Is that something they might be working on?

You can run it in bootcamp on your mac. Thats what I do, works fine.

I've used VMware Fusion and installed a Windows virtual machine on my MacBook Pro. The lag was identical to what you would see on any other device. SkyTrak has a delay no matter what device you use. I also have an iPhone, iPad Pro, and a regular desktop. The SkyTrak software worked great on all of the devices.

I knew that there will always be a delay with Skytrak. But I read that the delay might be shorter/longer depending on the device you are using. Did you notice and difference in length on your different platforms?
I am probably going to use my Iphone in the beginning but if I end up purchasing a new Ipad or anything like that it would be nice to know which one is the "fastest" in combination with SkyTrak.

I used my 2014 MacBook Pro with boot camp, very easy to set up.
The only issue is that when I used it outdoors and the battery runs so quick

i ended up getting an iPad Pro which last a lot longer and seems to read the data much quicker

To KITS —— I have a Mac also. I am not familiar with all the PC stuff and my question is... it seems the graphics card is the big issue. What type of card is in your Mac. I want to check and see what I have. I am hoping after reading this string I can use my Mac with BootCamp.
