  • Cannot putt short putts on Skytrak with TGC software

They never register for 6 ft and in. I have to hit it pretty hard to register and then the ball goes straight over the hole. Help?

I had the same issue, I read on here that some people are placing the ball an inch or so closer to the screen ( in front of the laser dot) while putting, even doing that I still had problems. I ended up setting gimmes to 2 yards, not ideal, but, less frustrating.

I think most of us are using gimme's from 6ft and in. I am very pleased with the skytrak and TGC - but there are limitations in SIM golf.

I think that the GC2 might be the best for short putts... GSA .... I can putt about 3 feet but what do you do when you are 3 feet out down 5 inches...... This is why the tour plays 2 yard gimmies. It speeds up play and is fair to all sims.

If you're just looking to mimic practice, set gimmes to 2 yards and then putt to a separate hole on the side. adjust your score after for the ones you miss. Otherwise, sim putting 6 feet or even 30 feet is not really realistic in any sense.

I beg to differ...... Putting on a two camera system like GSA's is simply incredible. I putt on a surface that is meant for carpet inside a car. It is the speed of an average green. My system can detect direction down to 1/100 of a degree ( it rounds it off to 1/10) and speed to 1/100 of a mph. It also rounds speed off to 1/10 of a mph. I don't putt over any sensors and I don't have a change of material. Plus the material gives a very nice green like roll. Putting on TGC does take some getting used to.... no arguing that. But once you get it down, it adds a lot to the game.

Try putting from behind the red dot. Helps with reading my short putts. Also with driver, teeing up one to two inches behind the dot.
