  • Some unused fields in the SkyTrak web data feed... integration with SkyPro to come?

Just poking around my data on the SkyGolf web interface at http://clubsg.skygolf.com/skytrak/[username], and I figured out how to easily export the JSON file of all my swing data and import it into Excel (pretty useful to make custom graphs, calculate standard deviation, dispersion, etc.).

Check out some of these field names... looks like some SkyPro integration might be coming down the pipe. I checked the SkyPro data feed on the web, too, and it has similar field names but no SkyTrak data fields like ball speed and distance. I've put the interesting ones in bold red:

    {"sessionDate":1483431165,"Duration":14,"club":"8I ","clubName":"8 IRON","sessionSwings":[{"sessionD":"Jan 3 2017 08:12:45:000AM","Duration":14,"date":1483434602,"t otalSessions":19,"club":"8I","skyTrakShotId":55480 07,"name":"Shot5548007","handSpeed":null,"plane":null,"tempo":null,"commen ts":"","sideAddress":null,"sideImpact":null,"sideT op":null,"lineAddress":null,"lineBack":null,"lineD own":null,"lineImpact":null,"topBack":null,"topDow n":null,"backswingDesc":"","show":1,"favorite":0,"ballSpeed":106,"clubheadSp eed":91,"verticalLaunchAngle":23.7,"horizontalLaun chAngle":0,"backSpin":8129,"sideSpin":-232,"carryDistance":140,"totalDistance":140,"offLi ne":-3}],"distinctSessionId":"1483431165-8I-1"}

As long as SkyTrak_Seth doesn't mind me telling folks how to grab the JSON file and import it into Excel, I'll share the simple technique.

As an aside, it looks like the ShotID values are global, and we're up to 5,554,8007 shots as of the shot above this morning. Looking back on my data from Oct 19, 2015, we were at 334,410 shots.

That would be pretty cool - if the skytrak app could somehow get the bluetooth stream from the SkyPro and give true club head speed (and path and face!) I frequently have the range app going on the PC projector and the skypro going on an ipod. I call it my poor-man's HMT

I think if you were to recieved path/face info from the Skypro it would do more harm than good...

The accuracy is not there, and that's stated by the developer/founding engineer for Skypro on GolfWRX site shortly after it came out.

goatbarn - yup. I really only use the path information to keep me under the line.

Was alluded to in another thread that there might be some integration with skypro. Would be nice to have club head speed measured via skypro to calculate smash factor.

We will be adding some new club data AFTER the next release. SkyPro will be a part of that effort.

ProTee United I have to ask!
So should us Skytrak owners be stepping up and buying the Skypro setup to add to our Skytrak systems? And if so then how long before we can expect to see this data feed our TGC systems!!! Sorry but inquiring minds want to know!

First time we hear about this new feature. I assume SkyTrak will inform all simulation partners before releasing anything.

Not sure how useful it'll be to implement in the sims Protee. As you'd have to whip it off each time you change clubs and then recalibrate. Only useful on the range really, in which case you might as well use the SkyTrak range app? Unless I'm missing something?

I have had 2 skypro's, both have stopped working after 1-2 months. I returned one, still have the other. It wont charge. Blinking charge-indicator light on case blinks away for days, device never seems to gain any charge and wont turn on.

I have given up on the product, but hopefully others have better luck. Would be cool to integrate with Skytrak app, but I wont be buying a 3rd one to use it!

I'm honestly not sure what they're announcing...I've been buried in development. I'll be down there though, so come say hi

Tried the Skypro swing app today, very buggy. Constantly crashing and/or prompting for recalibration.

Just waiting on my Skypro to arrive. Ordered one through ebay, being an Certified Pre-owned one. The Skypro, like the Skytrak are not available in any shops in Australia unfortunately. Decided to buy a Skypro after my swingbyte broke for the 4th time. This time around the case broke where the strap connects to it and swingbyte support said I would have to buy another one as they would not send me a replacement case to fit myself - even though I offered to pay for the case - as the electronics still worked. Even with their reduced price offer, I couldn't be bothered going through all possible breakages again so bought the Skypro instead.
