  • Anyone else ready to move on from TGC2019?

Anyone else kind of done with TGC2019?

Same bugs as a year ago, really awful UI and options.

I host a weekly golf league at home and constant bugs and issues are becoming too much to make it work. Ready to move on to E6 or anything else.

Not me. I'm a huge fan of TGC2019. Im almost done playing TGC. Jwheels just created my home course growing up and it looks great and plays just as it did when I was a kid. Im trying to play one live match on discord a week streaming on youtube and new courses are designed faster than I can play em.
My only issues is tgc2019 doesn't open on the first try always a forced shutdown and I lose my settings constantly but I have my settings saved in a file.

    what are your main complaints?

The first bounce has to be fixed. Scramble format would be a game closer. I’m a big fan too!

It’s been a while since I’ve played it but the connect issues and non saved games were very frustrating. Just getting randomly kicked off and not being able to continue the game as you left off.

I've never had a disconnect issue, except for the time when my house lost internet completely. The first bounce and lie angle needs fixed. I hate not being able to hit a 3 wood in the fairway because the game doesn't factor in the angle of the ball. I've rage quit a few society rounds because I've hit good 3 wood shots 10 feet.

What do you mean by this? I use TGC19 and have no issues hitting 3w from the fairway?

I'm thankful for the free upgrade and such from TGC but if I had to pay $800 and deal with these bugs I'd be pissed. What's with the non communication from ProTee? Are they even going to fix this? At this point it's about as promising as a skytrak update...

I personally have had TGC since day one and love it. Being able to make courses and have tournaments in the cloud is such a bonus. Ya, there’s some glitches but I’ll take the glitches over paying $500 per course on another software. I just don’t use the things that glitch. Glitches suck but for the money, nothing better IMO. Good luck with E6 bro. I have it and it’s decent

So you putt everything? Cause I'd say that first big bounce is one of the biggest issues by far. It makes the ball physics unrealistic. I've had it help on shots and hurt on shots but you have to admit it effects the gameplay. Stop praising the company for a half finished product.

I putt every putt over 6 feet. If you don’t like the software don’t use it. The big bounce isn’t realistic but not that big of a deal for me. Am I not allowed to have my own opinion?

I never see that first bounce unless i'm punching out from under trees then i'm prepared to use it to my advantage. I have caught some bunker lips and some hills in front of me but I just consider it a penalty for being too greedy.

I really enjoy TGC2019. Would I like the first bounce issue resolved? Sure. It’s more noticeable when my friends who hit low line drives and or top the ball. It rarely happens for good ball strikers.

I don’t putt very often to save time. It just takes too long especially with people who haven’t played sim golf much. I just take 2 putts when on green.

I have had a number of local courses designed for me and really enjoy playing them with friends. That is not likely possible with other sim software packages.

I was going to say that about the ball striking but I didn’t. lol. It’s only happened to me like twice. The video game version has the same bounce. Unfortunately, I can’t see it leaving based on that

I'm not saying you can't. I'm simply agreeing with this original post.

the problem with this game is Protee didn't design it. HB studios who are now under the 2k banner did. If we want changes like scramble mode or bug fixes, I'm guessing they're the ones who would implement them. It's been almost a year since Alpha testing and all the same gameplay bugs still exist. the low ball bouncing straight in the air happens once in a while on shots it never should but it's very seldom. the one i hate is the automatic 3 foot bounce after your ball hits the green. IRL most my marks are like 12 inches or less from where my ball ends up and usually it's in front of my ball when the ball spins back a little. this game, you hit the green and the ball hops 9 feet forward then comes back 6 inches.

E6 connect looks beautiful but it's crazy expensive. courses packs are $400 I think for 10 of them mthunt which is not really that bad when you look at the quality of the planting on them. our courses besides a select few, are nowhere close to the quality of those. I'm guessing it took them tons of time to do a course like Wade Hampton. I wanted to do it for TGC but after looking at the course vids from E6, It would take me way too much time to bother.

The only course packs for E6 Connect that cost $300-400 are the handful of premiums (Pebble, etc). Otherwise the $300/yr gets you 27 which rotate, or $600/yr which gets you 97 plus 4-5 news ones each year. Do agree that the level of finish in the E6 courses, both in vegetation and surrounding architecture, is a higher level than TGC19, and they're soon going to be pushing graphics upgrades including 3D grass for all their courses.

I tend to play TGC over TGC2019 for the bounce reason, the Q and E keys don't work very well, putting/removing the pin key doesn't work, the ball doesn't check up well on the green. The interface is weird, you have all of that "your level' and "your fake money" leftover console stuff. On the other hand, I love the multiple tees, the visuals in 2019 are lovely, people are making tons of nice LIDAR courses.
If it came down to playing the same course with the same conditions I'd do it on TGC, not 2019.
I find it odd that several of the things that work fine in TGC are screwed up in 2019, its frustrating. I wish they'd get it tidied up to the mechanics that original TGC had..
P.S.I find the dress up your little golf avatar with nifty togs and cool hairdos beyond ridiculous.

I feel tgc is like playing a water logged course too soft. Chips don't roll out. It's just too soft. Tgc2019 moderate green speed with very soft greens is more realistic to me. More firm than tgc and chips are definitely more realistic. The graphics are amazing and the the new course lidar is unreal.
as for the avatar what a hoot. Wizard doesn't want to be like every other player dressed up for sure.

I feel TGC 2019 is definitely a better physics model then the original TGC beyond a few of the first bounce glitches. The way it handles chips / pitches are way more accurate than the original TGC when you could literally stop the ball on a dime with a knuckle ball if you try.

I'm getting to the point of moving on from TGC and just playing TGC 2019 exclusively due to so many improvements over the original.

I don't have a lot to say about E6 or other software packages but you'll never find the kind of community / competition / tournaments that you'll find from TGC 2019.

Where you playing with the super soft push up greens wheels? Man, my course the ball never stays on the USGA Spec greens if you hit in from the rough.

It happens on every green on every course in TGC2019.
Most the greens I play are at like a 9 stimp I'd say. I can't afford to play those fancy country club greens that they actually cut and roll at a 12 stimp
