  • e6 DEMO....hard to see? And other issues...

I have been playing TGC for about a year. ZERO complaints except for UI and limited gameplay modes.
I play on a 75 inch 4K TV which sits behind my net.
I love the e6 possibilities with the new game modes, etc....
Is it just me or is the e6 Demo way "too sharp" and difficult to see the pin, etc?
When I boot up TGC the graphics are really good too but it seems like the graphics are a little more subdued in a good way which makes important things like the pin, the green grid, etc, easier to see.
On e6 when you go to the range, etc....which is super cool and I love it...but you can't hardly see the target pin.
Also, is there a way to keep your info locked on the screen like it does on the Skytrak range??
I hate the fact that you have to wait until the ball lands before you see how far the ball went, launch angle, etc
ALSO, on TGC you hit the Q key to zoom-in on your target. Geez you use this button literally on every shot. How is it possible to play a game without this feature? I can't seem to find this feature anywhere on E6! I even went to the website and scanned the manual for the game.
LASTLY, is it worth it to upgrade to TGC 2019? I have done a lot of research and it just doesn't seem to be worth it.
Graphics upgrade doesn't seem worth it.
Different tee boxes aren't worth a $600 upgrade, imo
Dressing up your avatar aren't worth it, either.
One last thing...I'm a 6 handicap and I don't have any complaints with TGC like some people on this forum do. I'm thinking some people on this forum aren't that good at golf so they think something is wrong with the hardware and/or software. The Skytrak and TGC is seriously legit. I'm blown away by it every time I use it! I'm so glad I bought this thing!!

Just wanted to thank you for posting your pic. I had my doubts about viewing a TV through my Net Return. But, I see how yours works, and like it!

Did you consider having a TV mounted on the wall to the right? (Face on if you were a RH golfer in your setup.)

I appreciate that the net return is a very good product, but would caution the T.V. placement as I have seen a picture of someone using the Net Return where they blew a hole through the netting and ended up with a golf ball stuck in their drywall. The only thing I would mention is that it would likely be good to check your netting every once and a while.

LOL! Yes for sure on the net issue. It worries me greatly but after thousands of hits I haven’t seen one sign of it wearing out. I do, however, move my hitting area all over the place so that I’m not hitting into the same exact spot every time.
i considered an impact screen and a projector but ultimately I decided against it.

In regards to the previous poster YES I have a small cocktail table to the right where I have my wireless keyboard and a regular PC monitor. It’s a fantastic setup. And I also use a 3 pedal thing on the floor next to the ball. Left for left, middle for the Q key, and right for right.

but neither of you guys answered my original questions LOL

I think most of this forum's members use projectors and screens. Usually, with those, there's no such thing as "too sharp." Since you use monitors / TVs that have sharp, high def / high contrast pictures, it's probably tougher to see the pin as a skinny object. I don't recall if e6 has way to make the target larger / smaller...

            1. See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLQsmv9_lVM

            2. Do you have the pin yardage marker showing? There's a setting for that, to make the pin easier to see.

            3. Nope. Hopefully will be changed in the future.

            4. You can do a hole flyover with the drone icon at bottom left, but that shows the entire hole, not from ball to green. The workaround in E6 is to go into Practice mode and move your ball to wherever you want to see. It's quicker and easier than it sounds, and a pretty good workaround for now. But TruGolf is aware of the issue and will add a quicker way to zoom from ball to hole, I think.

            5. TGC19 and E6 Connect are both very, very good sims. Pros and cons of each. Depends on your particular needs and wants.

              very good responses! Thank you!
And again like I said....I am still very happy with TGC.
From what I see on youtube there is no real reason to upgrade (spend $500) to TGC 2019....

I look forward to seeing the updates to E6 to make this game the new king??? At least its nice to see new updates...
