Ok to say I know nothing about computers would be a huge understatement! I am looking at getting a skytrak with TGC. I have tried reading a lot of post on here but I just don't understand lol. To my question. What is the best PC I can buy that will give me the best experience for my sim? It will only be for the sim no other use what so ever. Thanks for any help

It will depend on what your budget is for the computer.

To echo what weakhead mentioned depends on your budget. Once you have a number we can help narrow your options.

Also Costco is a pretty good bet if you have access to one. Prices are very competitive , returns are super easy. They have a ton of "gaming" machines in many price points that will be perfect for TGC.

Yes I probably should have put a budget lol. I would like to stay $1,000 and below but would go up to $1,500 if it's just the best way to go.

Get a PC with a GTX 1060 6GB or equivalent. Processor doesn’t need to be anything special. Any i5 or i7 is fine. Storage is same....whatever really. This will push HIGH settings and run 60FPS minimum.

I would say that the 970m graphics is borderline. https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...685#post101685

See if you can talk to orangeman he has a laptop similar to this one. https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...-new-sim-setup or Archv6625

                .

Do you need a laptop? You can get better desktop components for what you are going to pay for a laptop, especially if you build your own (or have someone build it for you).

Weakhead thank you for the help. No I don't need a laptop. Whatever I have will only be for the sim. I really just don't know computers at all. I have tried reading a lot of post. Seems like a lot of people say different things as to you don't need this you don't need that. I was hoping to get at a little lower cost but don't want to lose Quality. I'm thinking I'll just have one built to spec and pay the $1,200-$1,500 or buy one from cyber power.

Send orangeman and Archv6625 a PM and ask about the laptop you posted, they both seemed happy at the time, see if they still are. If that laptop fits your budget it might be the right choice.

Where is your sim going to be located, garage or in the house? Do you have an internet connection where the sim is going to be or are you going to be using wifi? Are you going to be getting a projector or only using the computer monitor?

Something else to keep in mind is that TGC2 is going to be coming out in 6 to 8 months and the required minimum graphics card may change. Maybe ProTee United could comment on that.

Happy as could be. I've had not issues with the graphics with TGC, FR1 or FSX.

This is close to the computer I built for my sim. Price today is <$900. The GTX 1060 6GB has performed very well but I am not running a projector yet, just a 1080p monitor.

The sim will be located in the house in a permanent location. I do have an internet connection and Will be running a short throw projector.

You may not know the answer to this question but if you purchase the one time price for TGC and TGC2 comes out will that be an update or a total different purchase?

You will not have to pay full price for TGC2. There may or may not be an upgrade fee.

The simulator edition is called The Golf Club Simulator. The latest version is 3.0.

The simulator edition is not the same as TGC - The PC/XBox/PS4 game. Its a seperate product running on its own infrastructure. Distributed, operated and maintained by ProTee (not HB studios) and heavily modified with loads of simulator features to be used with various simulator hardware products.

Unlike other simulator software manufacturers, we never charged anything for updates and upgrades. Not even for the upgrade from ProTee Golf 2.0 to TGC. There is also no charge for extra courses, or DLC or other additional features we build into the game. The course editor and content is free. So is online play, playing online tournamenents and support.

The golf simulator market is extremely small compared to the PC Game/Console market. The Golf Club Simulator is not a quick cash grab. The simulator edition is not just a copy of a PC game. Its a special product (#madewithloveforthegame) which requires a lot of additional work, maintenance and support. There is significate cost involved in running high end quad octacore processor game servers with loads of bandwidth, adding special features for specific simulator hardware and building installers for distribution (unlike quick steam patching). The sales ratio TGC Simulator vs TGC PC/XBox/PS4 game is probably around 1:1000. Simple calculation: (Operating Cost + Development Cost) / number of users = consumer price. These are just a couple of reasons why there is a price difference between The Golf Club Simulator and TGC for PC/Xbox/PS4.

This summer we will work on the The Golf Club Simulator roadmap for 2017. If we are going to implement any of the new TCG2 game features into the simulator edition the update/upgrade will probably be released summer/fall 2017. Timing and cost all depends on the roadmap. One thing we know for sure is that you will not have to pay for a brand new game when you already own The Golf Club Simulator.

                        We will keep you posted.

                        Happy Golfing!

Anything with current i5 , ssd, 16 gb of ram. and some version of a gtx 980 graphics and above would be amazing for tgc. If you look at dell home, there are alot of deals on their gaming systems that can be had for around 700.
