graphics cards that are sufficient for JNPG/TGC

Hey guys. I'd appreciate your input on this topic. I'm interested in hearing about different graphics cards that you all use. How do you feel about it's performance for your given sim. Any thoughts that you care to share about what you feel works best for your sim. Recommended specs for TGC are to have a gtx970 4gig and gtx770 for JNPG. Do you think these are the best choices? best value? comparable cards from other manufacturers that may be sufficient?

for graphics cards for laptops and desktops i would go no lower then a 1060 graphics card for best results, I run a 1080T and i run everything on high resolution on the games and it never affects my FPS

No, you could get an equivalent card from any brand. We just happen to all have GeForce

As the folks have indicated above, one cannot go wrong with a GTX 1060.

I have an older generation AMD card, That is a Radeon 7950. I have a 1080P projector that I use at 16 by 10 or 1680 by 1050 because that fits my screen better. I use it in a first generation I7 860 computer with 16 meg of ram. With this setup, I run with all the eye candy maxed out with no perceptible lag. Although, I cannot visually tell much difference between about half settings and max settings. Anyway, one can see some roughness in the image with this resolution, but this setup seems to work just fine.

Has anyone used a gtx 1050?

I have a gtx 1050 ti. When I have TGC running on its own on 'medium kinda' settings then its ok. However together with 3 webcams recorcing, OBS and VLC playback for 2 webcams TGC got too low on fps. I am now upgrading to 1070ti. I cannot give you fps yet because I am waiting for 24pin to 14pin connector to arrive. I need this to connect power unit to my motherboard. I'll give an update on fps when I have it up and running.

I got my 1070ti working. It gets around 50 to 60 fps with TGC settings on:
- Object detail: 5
- High quality tree count: 1500
- High quality tree distance: 500
- Water quality: 2

TGC is running with:
- 2 webcams and Kinovea recording for slow motion playback swing
- 1 webcam for live recording
- OBS for screen capturing

I'm curious what app you used to program voice commands. Also, what screen resolution are you running the golf club at. I've never used the golf club but I would assume it takes substantially more powerful gpu to monitor in 4k than 1080p. Must be nice to have that 1070ti working for you. Can you give us a comparison between the performance of the 1050 ti and the 1070 ti ?

I just purchased a PC from Walmart that had a GTX 1060 3GB version in it. I'm only needing the PC for Business so I have no need for the graphics card and willing to sell it for 175+ shipping. Its brand new and sells for around $220 online.
