Its how nvidia differentiates their products. A gtx 450, 550, 650, or anything ending in a 50 designates a lower cost/lower performance solution.

60 are better, 70 even faster, and 80 are really fast.

I can run all Red Chain courses at max settings using an Nvidia GTX 660 which has a passmark score of ~4000 so you will need a comparable one if you want max settings. I definitely prefer to play on max settings rather than watch the trees and long rough load as the ball moves down the fairway. Actually, I forgot- The most recent Red Chain course (The Honda Classic) that I downloaded 2 days ago is the first one that has slightly too low of fps to be perfectly smooth. It has tons of trees, water, and buildings though.

I have the 780Ti. Top of the list! Sweet card. Make sure you have a PSU that will handle your card. I went from 500w to 850w and it made a world of difference for everything.

All my parts (except for my SSD) arrived from New Egg two days ago. I am doing a mini ITX build.

As soon as my SSD shows up from Amazon I will get it all put together. Should be able to run everything on max on whatever sim software I choose to go with.

Sounds like fun John. How big is the ssd and how much will this build cost?

SSD is a Samsung and is 250 GB. I will also add another HD when I need it. All together around $1200 (which includes some extras I did not list). If I had waited around for deals like I usually do, I could have done it for around $1000. But....I didn't feel like waiting :P

I decided I wanted to experiment with mini ITX, which added cost for the mobo (which is a straight up awesome performance machine). The beauty is, it will take a full size video card. I watched a LOT of videos on the Bitfenix Prodigy case....and I love it. I am paying more ultimately for smaller form factor...which means a little more portable.

So how is Windows 8.1 working out? Any issues with it? Deciding which OS to go with on the new system build.

Windows 8.1 works fine. Boot is much faster but so far, not much improvement over windows 7.

I would go 8.1 just because your building for the future.
