For minimum systems maybe. It's still a low end card. Go with 70's 80's series cards. i.e. 770, 780, etc...

Let us know how well TGC works on your new build. Should be pretty good. I have that same cooler. It's a beast.

On a complete different note... is it worth getting a touch screen monitor?
My sim will be running with a GC2. Is there going to be a lot of computer interaction required to play a round of golf? I've never used a sim before - but I assume I have to use the computer to choose the general direction I want to hit in? I'm also going to need to select the required club (or do I skip that using a GC2?)
I'd rather use a touch screen than a keyboard / mouse if possible. I need a new monitor anyway, and have spotted a great deal on a 23" touch screen.

I'm trying to build a budget gaming system (if there is such a thing?!) for my golf sim.
I've bought some parts in Black Friday sales, and some bits of eBay. Here's what I've got so far...

I've also ordered an old Hauppage WinTV 1200 card so that I can watch TV through my projector if I want. Hopefully the last of it will arrive on Monday, and I can get it all built and tested.

Finally got my new build together and finished. Went with an AMD 8350 and an R9285 card. I am getting 55 FPS on average running TGC on high default settings @ 1280x800 (no 1080p projector just yet). Big improvement over the I7 laptop!

Most of these parts I already had but figured I would list what the whole thing would cost if built from scratch. Btw, I got SLI to work after a little trick I found on Steam forum. I'm now running TGC on high with object at 5 at 1920X1080p. Getting between 40-50 fps on Pinehurst #2. I don't see any stutter yet. CPU and graphics cards are running at stock speeds. The i7 is very fast. Looks like the two GTX 670's are still a bottleneck.
