I won some money playing poker. Therefore I bought a GTX 980ti. It plays TGC on high, level 1 detail, trees distance and number of high quality trees at max. Full 60FPS, never dropping at all. Turning the detail to level 3 and trees at max results in 45-60FPS. Level 5 detail and trees at max results in 30FPS and choppy at times........ Going back to level 2 or 1. Level 2 I get 56-60 FPS with trees at max. I am leaving the settings there. I sure like the trees at max......... as John would say........Very nice! I know very well that you don't need that kind of card with TGC, but what the hell. I got good money for my 970's and my wife would have eventually taken the money out of my wallet. Now all I need is a 4 k projector to sell for around 2k. I might have to wait a while.

After watching you go 6 under after 6 holes, I need you to PM me the TGC cheat code. Holy d!cks that is impressive!Originally posted by keither5150 View PostI am just finally learning how YouTube works. I have another video that should be better quality. I recorded a whole round. I had to rewind twice due to balls being in the FOV. It's tough when your chip goes 2 inches. I have a EVGA Superclocked AC2 GTX 980ti. I am running a Panasonic PT-au 4000u. Very good for movies.... so so for golf sims. If you watch this video in Chrome, it will play at 1080p/60..... not quite 60 but close. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkF1oSIgyzo .
My screen size is 13x9 so I am running 1680x1050 to fill the screen better. I also have a 40 inch 1080p screen for a second monitor. Although the video card does 4k, I can't see myself buying a 4k projector any time soon. It looks very nice on my impact screen. If you watch this video.... I get a hole in one on it. First ace ever. I think that this might be my best round ever. I hope I get a round like this during the tournament.

Best round ever. I made some bad shots but usually followed with a good recovery. My last two rounds were around 80ish on Spyglass hill..... not looking good. If you look carefully. one of my ghost rounds was 5 over after 4. I am a little inconsistent. I did have 2 rewinds due to misreads. If a ball is even slightly in the FOV on my GSA system, it will take your 250 yard shot and make it 2 yards. It was funny when I got the hole in one. I cheered for myself and thought too bad nobody is here to see it. Then I remembered that I was recording it. I like recording a practice round with a few of my ghosts. I then watch it back and maybe make better decisions during the tournament. GSA even put that video on their site. I don't need to PM a cheat code to you. On average I play more than a round a day if you count practice rounds that I don't finish due to excessive auto rewinding. Sometimes I will autorewind for 10 or 12 shots on par 3's. Make a mental note of where to aim and what club to use. I find that it helps me a lot. I probably have 1 unfinished round for every finished round that I have played. So the secret is to play a sh!tload of rounds and eventually you will have a really good one.

Outstanding round though. I'm glad you recorded it.

Finally got my PC built. i5 Skylake 6600k 3.5 Ghz along with a Samsung SSD 850, 8 GB DDR4, and a Evga 980 graphics card. If I put on High settings it gets choppy. Moved to Medium and tried to move up the tree detail, etc and it gets choppy. Really surprised because I built this PC for this game and thought I had enough juice to make it hum at high settings.

Check this out:
Right click on the desktop and open nvidia control panel.
Then head to the "manage 3D settings" drop down under 3D settings.
Then under the global settings tab, underneath preferred graphics processor, change it from auto detect to high performance graphics processor.

A little off topic, but I'm using a 720p projector and while its bright I don't feel it looks "amazing". Also an hq2 screen but I am also only 8-9ft away. I have a 1080p Epson projector in the basement for movies, I suppose I could test the differences.
I didn't think the 1080p pj would make that big of a difference considering it's an impact screen. I know this has been brought up before but any thoughts?Last edited by Joko; 03-19-2016, 02:56 AM.

I just went from 720p to 1080p and it's crazy better.
Images this large, resolution really matters. Google resolution and image size, 720 vs 1080 chart. You'll see that at this large of an image resolution is even more noticeable.
Made a huge difference on my 10' wide HQ screen.

Well, sounds like I have another defective part. Bought another graphics card and installed it. Works fine now. Thanks for the tips guys. As I said in another thread, I will never build my own PC ever again. That said, now that this card works, PC runs TGC like a charm.

Never say never!
Kind of reminds me of the time I decided to buy a brand name computer, instead of the local computer shops offerings. Never had so much trouble with a computer as the brand name. Kinda like what happened when I bought my laptop from the 'leading brand'. Total POS.
Just bought a router - had to have the internet company service guy come out and tell me that it was defective, right out of the box.
Unfortunately, the more computers you see, the more issues you'll uncover. Mind you, no one ever writes to rave about how well their unit is running.
