I upgraded my system and the difference is amazing. I went from an AMD with a 750 card to an 17 quad core with a 1070 card. I get over 100 FPS and my boot up time to teeing off is less than 1 minute. I also recorde my rounds with webcam overlay and still I never have a stall or stutter......best money I have spent....increased my enjoyment of my sim by 5 fold.

Most probably laptop, as will double as my sons for gaming and home work, and then out in the garage for my Sim (have skytrak... Prob get tgc)
Would appreciate feedback on which card I should be getting and also any suggestions on models ( been looking at Asus and MSI).
Looking for best vfm out there at the moment ... But if should wait for a bit.... Then ok, if not too much longer.

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to keep expanding scope and cost..., to think I started off with an optishot and an old Mac.,,. Now I am getting super hyped on a gtx 1070 laptop ... That I probably don't need,... But once you get the bug, there's no turning back 😃
After a lot of research on various laptop and gaming review sites, it does seem that the new pascal nvidia chips will provide almost comparable performance in laptops to desktops.... And the 1070 looks to be the sweet spot.
Stocks do seem low at present, so am thinking of waiting til November for the big sales and perhaps more availability.... If I can wait that long.
Seger, asus, MSI all seem great options....

Is the mobile 1070 as good as the desktop 1070?????? The answer is yes for the most part. It is slightly different with only a small difference in clock speed. It does have a few more shaders and texture units to make up for it. This is what the gaming laptop market has been waiting for. Computer geeks can click here for more details.
I was expecting that the mobile 1070 would be equal to the desktop 970 which would've been a great accomplishment. Nvidia has closed the gap between mobile and desktop to the point that there really isn't a noticeable difference. The mobile version will not have the overclocking room that the desktop has. But TGC at 1080p does not need an overclocked 1070 to play well. Once somebody takes the leap to 4k, overclocking the 1070 may be needed. I am running a GTX980ti..... and I am hoping that I can resist the urge to upgrade to the GTX 1080. Hopefully I can wait until I am ready to go 4k. That will be when a 4k projo can be had for 2k and when all sports are broadcasted in 4k.
Anyone who is running less than a GTX970 will be impressed with the performance of the 1070 mobile or desktop. It is also refreshing that there is no need to explain why the desktop version is greater than the mobile version. That explanation can finally be laid to rest.
