  • Superbay screen from Allsports

I am considering to buy the Superbay from Allsports. I cannot find a lot of information on how good the screen is which they are using. Any experience here with Allsports screen?

Reverse engineer it and DIY. I would bet it would met your expectations and be cheaper.

I might go that route. The only thing that seems a bit more complicated is the black out material. Not sure whether I am able to make something that looks neat enough.

I purchased some black tarp material from a local hardware place. The tarp had grommets every 12 inches. I was able to secure it the screen and pulled it out along the wall. I think total the tarp and bungee balls ran me 30 dollars.

I bought black blackout cloth (a window behind the bay) on the internet (can't remember the vendor), twenty yards by five feet to fit my 12 x 10 Superbay. It's very strong, you can punch a hole in it to tie it to the netting and to itself with ties. I also used carpet tape to fix one piece to another across the back.
The cloth was about $200 delivered.

I went with the superbay package a love it. Yes, you can DIY and safe some money but I do NOT enjoy that sorta stuff. THE HD screen is the way to go. Looks great.

Yes, the HD screen looks great. 1080p videos are only slightly degraded. When 4k sims come out and real 4k projectors get cost effective, I'll get me one of those top-of-the-line screens. The screen holds up well too, important because your ball will continuously hit the same small area.

Trying to decide if the 5’ deep is enough or go with the 8’ deep? Looking at Superbay 12x9. It’s going in my single side garage. Will the 8’ give me more darkness with the blackout warp for tv and movies? Better protection for occasional stray shots. 🤔

5' is quite adequate for hitting the 12 x 9 from your tee ten to twelve feet away. It makes a fine letterbox effect with the black wrap.

I bought the Superbay 13 x 9 x 6 and I am in the process of putting it together. I will post a picture when I am finished.

Just finished my set up. Some fine tuning still to be done. I dealt with Amy from AllSports and she has been very knowledgeable and helpful. The next big thing is getting the projector mounted!

How was the setup time frame and quality of the enclosure?

The quality of the enclosure is excellent. Everything really fits well. I opted for the HD screen and the black wrapper. The black wrapper is made of very heavy and solid material. It takes preferably two people to put it all together (thank you mrs. Golfbeat!). We did it leisurely it over a weekend about 2 or 3 hours each day. There are a lot of zip ties! Use a pipe cutter for the EMT pipes. They told me in the Home Depot that the pipe cutter might not work for EMT because the material would be too hard. However, it worked like a charm. A few turns of the pipe cutter and the pipe snapped cleanly off.

I only hit a few balls into the screen as my home is still under construction but the bounce back is great and it seems relatively quiet. Still must mount the projector so don't know how the picture will look like.

Projector is in place and cable TV, AppleTV and FSX 2018 connected. The quality of the screen seems to be very good. Hardly any bounce back. The shot defender works really well for high lob shots. A dent is forming where because I hit the ball in the same place over and over again but there is no damage or wear to the screen yet.

Looks nice...I just received my packages with my SuperBay yesterday. I'll be using a "Direct from the Mill" screen which has also arrived. I've got all the pieces...now just some time needed to assemble! Once I get going we can compare screens as time goes on for the benefit of others.
