  • Ceiling Protection

How does everyone protect their ceilings? I'm not sure I like the aesthetics of putting a net on the ceiling loose enough to actually protect it.

I'm almost exactly 10' from my screen (well - net where a screen will be) and I can hit my ceiling (10'4") fairly comfortably with a SW. Granted, I'm a fairly high launch player to get the ~45 degree launch angle but its my typical ball flight. Should I move the sensors closer to the screen and just protect for the forced high launch shots or are there other good looking options?

I use those high impact exercise mats you put treadmills on. They snap together great and drywall screws hold them in place really well. looks cool too.

An old thread...but about how far out do you put those out? As in how quickly can I hit a 10 foot ceiling with a wedge or lob shot

I ended up with a net weighted with foam about 4 feet from the screen and it works well. If I try, I can hit the front edge of the net, but it won't read correctly because the Protee can't handle the club passing the ball.

how far do you hit from the screen? the normal 10 feet? so if i'm thinking about this right it takes about 6 feet or so (if you are trying) to get it to about 10 feet high

Its just a bit under 10 feet, but close enough to be right. I've almost hit the putting sensor light and that was enough for me to stop with the extreme flop shots.

i'm trying to figure out how far out to bring the plywood to protect my ceiling. i may just have to hit a few and can always add more protection if I hit the floor joist

I've never hit the ceiling further out from the screen than about 2 feet. I hit from 10 feet away at a 10 foot high screen. I'd say that ceiling protection 4 feet from the screen should do.
