  • Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill 2

This is a continuation of the Original post that you can see by searching the forum for the same title.

Im going to order a couple rolls of the premium impact screen directly from the mill and ship it out to whoever is interested. It comes in 10 foot long rolls, so it will be 10' tall by however wide you want.
This is the thick, 3 layer premium impact screen that you can buy at carls place for over $600 for a 10x10 raw screen. If you want it hemmed or velco around the edges i can do that in house before i ship it.

I should be getting the rolls in April 2019 sometime, I will be taking pre-orders here as soon as i figure out a price that works for me so it is worth my time. You do not have to pre-order, you can wait till i have the material in stock but based on the response from the previous post you might miss out if you wait. I will be posting prices here soon. Will try my best to keep it at about half the price... stay tuned!

    PS:
I will not be adding grommets.. they are no good anyway. they just stretch the fabric.. tarp clips are better.. the best ones ive found for the price are these: HORUSDY 8-Piece Tarp Clips, Camping Awning Tent Clamps. Hem the edges and attach these anywhere you need them.. works great.

Is it known directly where the "Conflict of interests" came from ...?

I would like to know so that I can avoid ever buying from them.

Slightly ironic as at least one of the retailing players in the market started by doing exactly what was trying to be achieved here.

Seems a little unfair to me.......

I agree with "Conflict of Intrest" as BS! If it ever comes out I would not buy from that mill or supplier!

Par2Pro......is it safe to assume your offer is still good????

Hey All, I am not sure what happened to dbgolf72 as he never responded to me. That is a very damaging accusation that we took his material and should have been checked before posting. I am a man of my word and would have done as I said I would if he would have gotten back to me. Our SQ material is custom made and has a very high cost attached to it as it is a premium product that has the least amount of puckering, best picture and lowest noise and bounce back that we tested versus other pre-made materials. That being said, we are still a business with overhead, R&D, sales, support, warranty and other costs - we need to make a profit in order to continue to stay in business so we can provide our customers with the best experience possible.

Does anyone have the second or third version of the direct from mill screen and the SQ from par2pro? I would be curious to know whether or not they are the same material. From the post above, it sounds like par2pro has their own custom version of a screen. Would also be interested if someone has the carls premium or whatever it's called and either direct from mill or par2pro SQ for comparison.

If natewipf found the supplier of par2pro's or carls screen, i could see them cancelling the order if they are custom made specifically for either vendor.

is there a benefit or purpose you are after with comparing?
I can mail a small piece of the latest from mill screen for comparison purposes. PM me if you have a par2pro or the carl's screen.

cooke23 I have the latest mill screen as well. I don't have either of the other two though. I was just curious if people believe the mill screen is the same as either SQ or carls. If so, it makes sense that the order would be canceled. If they are different, then why wouldn't they honor the order?

I've been told just now that the SQ and the mill screens are identical. makes sense now.

cooke23 Then the comment listed below is very suspect. I can't believe DBgolf did it for free, maybe so, but that is quite a markup going from 17.50 per foot to 39.99 per foot for the same thing. I don't think anyone would consider this to be similar pricing.

Here is the comment made by Par2pro earlier in the thread:
          """"Par2Pro commented
          10-05-2018, 06:26 AM
Hey dbgolf72 - we would be happy to take over while you take a break... if you are interested, just pm me or email me at cory@par2pro.comand we can work out the details and I can continue this post for you, or even put it on our website to make it easier for clients. Would offer the same or similar pricing depending on the costs."""""""

Suspect may not be the right word. I get it though, business is business and it can get cut throat at times. But there may be other ways to play that game.

Was your material different than dbgolfs material? I haven't got your material yet and I've only had a mid level material with some bleed through. Actually ive never seen dbgolfs material. Was yours from jason mills too?

I think this topic s/b closed. Some of the comments are way out of line. Par2Pro & Carl's are both tremendous assets for those wanting to build simulators. The mill made a bad business decision when it sold to an individual in the first place, I have friends who like Chevy trucks, I am sure GM would be happy to sell 25 trucks directly to me and bypass the Chevy dealer.

You mean like carvana? Why did the mill make a bad decision?

I haven't bought a screen from par2pro yet but I have bought 2 screens from carl's. I have had good luck with them. Is the par 2 pro screen different than carls?

I have the SQ screen from Par2Pro and is the best screen material I’ve had. My old screen from another vendor got holes in it fairly quick. I paid retail price for the SQ screen but have to say I am very happy with it. Based on my older cheaper screen I will always now buy a higher quality screen because it makes that much of a bigger difference. Par2Pro also added grommets which I prefer. Easier to attach a bungee. Others have recommended those clips. Never used those but can only post my experience so far with the SQ screen. I’ve read this post and obviously you can get a better price direct from a dealer. But I have no issues supporting a great business in the simulator world.

Was the other screen the high end screen from the other vendor? If so could you see a difference in the material?

If your referring to the Carl’s screen it wasn’t that vendor. It was another vendor with much cheaper prices. I believe it was called SuperTex screen or something like that. It worked and was 50% cheaper but like I said I got a couple holes fairly quickly and the image quality doesn’t compare to what I get on the SQ screen. You might pay more for it but when all done and said it will give you a better experience. Just like most things in life you get what you pay for. I can’t comment on the mil screen everyone was talking about in this thread. A long while back I was a little skeptical about giving someone money for a screen I didn’t know would be good or if it was a scam..lol. So I went with a trusted vendor. But sounds like a lot of people had good experience going with this.

Par2pro......are you prepared to honour your offer and offer the screens at similar pricing.......?
Seems like there is already a decent list of people prepared to buy at the proper price that has been scuppered ......seems like the right thing to do??

Kmurray. See post 34 above Par2pro answered this already. They never got a response from the seller of the direct mill screen. Their current screen product is custom made for them and not the direct from mill screen. They cannot sell same if they don't know what it is or how to get it. They are a very reputable vendor and I don't see a reason to doubt them

Someone mentioned above that they are the same screen. Would love to be able for someone who has both to actually confirm this.

Thanks for the reply, I am not doubting them, I know they have a good reputation. I have no reason to think that they do not know who the mill is that the direct from the mill fabric came from ...they are in that business and likely know every mill that can produce those types of fabric. My question was more based towards if they were prepared to take up the baton and provide a lower cost option where they have ready made buyers waiting to buy a product at a reasonable cost which is what they indicated when they posted on the original thread. I am not sure how many screens they sell on a daily basis but I doubt that it is anywhere close to the number of people that have indicated that they would buy on this thread. I also know that many retailers in other businesses would love to have access to a list of customers that are absolutely ready to buy ,it is a win win for everyone if common sense is applied.
