Enclosure size

So I have a brand new 22x15 sim room and purchased a used sim setup. It came with a 10' H 12' W and 10' D enclosure with top and side blackout curtains and HQ screen.

With it being so deep I feel like I will hit the left front post.

What is the suggested/safest depth I can get away with?

Any way to make just the left side less deep and keep the right side at 10'?

It's 1" emt fittings if that helps.

You would typically hit from about 10 feet away from the screen which would place you inside your sim enclosure. Not sure why you think you're going to hit the left front post, if you are standing abreast of it.

You haven't really described your situation in an understandable way. Are you a lefty or righty?

Also if you bought a used sim set-up, it obviously worked for the previous owner. Seems like you are trying to fix something that ain't broke.

Might also help if you provided more information about the sim itself.

I'm guessing if he is teeing the ball in the middle of the enclosure (6') at the back end, he may hit the post on backswing or follow through. Basically he is hitting in a room that is 12' wide and all comments have been that you would need to be offset from center with this distance. Maybe this was setup for only left or right handed play.

You don't need to hit within the enclosure. If you have the room, you could tee up at 11 or 12 feet from the screen if there is a fear of hitting the post. Other alternative could be to move up to 9 feet or stay at 10 feet and get a hack saw to cut down the length to say 8 feet.

The box represents where theater seats will eventually end.

The issue is the 3rd pic. All the wasted space where the ladder is I could swing in.

I'm thinking of cutting the left side only down to 6' Deep.

I'm a righty and so is everybody that will be using the sim.

If you cut down one side don't you have to do the other as well do that your cross bar at the back lines up?

Jeez! That looks nice. What kind of material is used for the sides and top? How's it attached to the frame?

With a wall that big, maybe you should re sell the screen and material and just go with angle iron and a new screen?

Maybe get 45 degree couplers and cut it back to 5'. You will need a loner 1" pipe or get another and couple them together.

Found a canopy fitting that will allow me to cut the left side down while keeping the right the same. I'll put a cross pole at that shortened side connecting to the right side.
