  • What is leaving dark spots on my screen?

My impact screen is a few weeks old, and I have noticed that balls are leaving grey spots. Is it the logo on the ball wearing off onto the screen? I only use new balls, and change them out when they start to get worn.

Not sure what else it would be.

Has anyone put their screen in the washing machine? I have the polyester NetReturn screen, seems like it should be fine to run through the washer with some oxyclean or something.

Could it be that the balls are hitting the wall behind the screen and the mark is actually on the back of the screen? Drywall or the chaulk in drywall would leave a greyish mark. Try one of those Clorox Miricle Cleaning Pens...I heard they will clean ball marks.

Check to see your club faces are clean. If not whatever is on them transfers to the ball and onto your screen. I'd suggest using something like a scotch brite or brillo pad and a brush to get any loose oxide off the faces and clean any dirt out of the grooves.

Just regular 'wear and tear' I'm afraid. I don't use my sim clubs outdoors and the impact screen is getting 'greyish' through regular use.

Early going I was marking the balls with a 'permanent' marker, which turns out isn't very permanent and made dark marks on the screen. I stopped that pretty soon, but the impact screen has developed an outline of the netting that it is backed up with, due to the 'wear and tear' of the golf balls striking the screen - I guess. Seems there's just dust, dirt and grit in the environment.

As my wife just chimed in, the two unanswerable questions in life are 'Where does the money go? and Where does dust come from?

You might want to see what Par2Pro suggests for washing their screens. I know that they have info about that somewhere.

While enviable, I agree with the clean clubs comment above.
