  • Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill

As a cost sensitive person attempting to build a high quality simulator, I realized purchasing the correct impact screen is critical to both the simulator's overall performance and it's price tag. It should be affordable, durable, seamless, impact resistant, have minimal bounce back, low noise, and display HD quality images.

West Coast Netting, Par2Pro, Foresight, Carl's Place and others listed in various forum threads all sell screens but none actually manufacture them. Buying second hand increases cost and my goal to buy the highest quality materials at the best possible price can only be accomplished by purchasing direct from the mill that manufacturers the fabric.

After plenty of research I found the mill that's manufacturing the impact screen fabric for Foresight, Carl's Place and others. The mills highest quality impact screen fabric is a heavyweight knit polyester sold only in 120 inch x 40 yard rolls. The raw material costs $56/yard without shipping.

40 yards is clearly too much material for my simulator so I'm looking to get a group of us on the forum to split a roll.

Please advise any interest or questions.

  • Might want to start your own thread. This one is REALLY getting long.

And, depending on cost...... I'm in for 16'

  • I will be in for 17"

    • Do you have pricing for just raw?

It is thick and a very good material.if you want to see exactly what it is order a sample of the premium screen at Carl's. Only cost a few dollars for the sample

      • Yes, I will be making a new post about this.I received my samples from carls, I am waiting for my sample to arrive from the mill to compare and make sure that it is the premium quality screen from carls. Even though the mill tells me that they supply this material to carls so I am very much expecting it to be the same material as the premium Carl's screen

        • Carls is selling it for over $600 for a 10x10. I can get it to you for about half that price and make it worth my time so I don't get burnt out from doing it.

          • So you're saying $30 per foot is that finished or unfinished?

              • I wonder if we should start a new thread for this purchase. This thread is getting out of control. I'm in for 12 feet.

                  • So after the mill canceled my order due to "conflicting interests" I finally got around to reading the entire thread and came to the following conclusion... dbgolf72 either died or got bought out by par2pro? which one is it dbgolf72? something weird is going on here! Show your face and let everyone know why you went silent all of a sudden?

Here is the comment made by Par2pro earlier in the thread:
                    """"Par2Pro commented
                    10-05-2018, 06:26 AM
Hey dbgolf72 - we would be happy to take over while you take a break... if you are interested, just pm me or email me at cory@par2pro.comand we can work out the details and I can continue this post for you, or even put it on our website to make it easier for clients. Would offer the same or similar pricing depending on the costs."""""""

Go look at their SQ screen on their website.. it is the exact same screen for 2.4x as much as what it was being sold on here... Big business now eh! Promising the same price but look what happens! We were sticking it to the big dogs when this thread started but now we are the big dogs.

                    • Hey guys wow a lot has happened since I checked this last. Last message I just saw was “show your face”. Goodness. Lot of passion here I love it. Ok I’ll get another 500 yards on the way. Anyone object to this? Or we good to go

                      • To answer the other part of a message why did I go silent for so long. I’m sorry guys just been super busy with our business. It really is a big undertaking to tackle another order for everyone and I have to make sure I have enough time before I can make a commitment to everyone. Eventually it’s going to come down to formalizing this process with a webpage and getting serious about providing the service everyone deserves or turn it over to someone else. And turning it over to someone else isn’t easy because we all put a lot of time into this. And after designing the material I have a kind of attachment to it. And the whole point of this was to have the best material at the lowest possible cost for everyone and I’m not sure someone else would have the same view as I do about this. So for now we’ll do another 500 yards and after that we see where to go with it.

                        • Also for the record after reading the mill #2 thread. Not sure if Cory properly defended himself. For whatever it’s worth I would say 98% chance the “conflict of interest” did not come
from Cory at par2pro. Most likely came from another retailer.

                            • Sweet that you are back in play here, it's definitely an awesome material you've designed. I'd like to be in for a 16 x 10 in the next run if there's enough left (not sure where I would be in the list here). Either way, welcome back
                              back!
