Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill

As a cost sensitive person attempting to build a high quality simulator, I realized purchasing the correct impact screen is critical to both the simulator's overall performance and it's price tag. It should be affordable, durable, seamless, impact resistant, have minimal bounce back, low noise, and display HD quality images.

West Coast Netting, Par2Pro, Foresight, Carl's Place and others listed in various forum threads all sell screens but none actually manufacture them. Buying second hand increases cost and my goal to buy the highest quality materials at the best possible price can only be accomplished by purchasing direct from the mill that manufacturers the fabric.

After plenty of research I found the mill that's manufacturing the impact screen fabric for Foresight, Carl's Place and others. The mills highest quality impact screen fabric is a heavyweight knit polyester sold only in 120 inch x 40 yard rolls. The raw material costs $56/yard without shipping.

40 yards is clearly too much material for my simulator so I'm looking to get a group of us on the forum to split a roll.

Please advise any interest or questions.

thanks for your post. I just posted pricing again for easy reference. Your 14 ft section would be either 25 ft per foot or 34 per foot depending on what option you choose. Current ETA is expected to be released mid to late February.

Not too late.
Depending on how you mount the screen if ceiling height is 10 ft 6, 10 ft should be fine no need for seam.

I think I will go raw and get extra on either end, to be safe and to keep my options open for the future as the space develops. I'd like to get 18ft wide by 12 ft tall, assuming they can do the horizontal seam. If I have to buy two 18ft x 10ft sections in order to get the extra 2 ft, that is fine too (though I'm hoping the extra could be economized and used by someone else). Can you confirm this is doable? I'll add my name to the list and PayPal once I have confirmation from you with a price with the seamwork.

dbgolf72 Where do you stand with current orders? 1 roll, 1.5, 2 roll? Have you placed an order or are you waiting until it's ready and then place it based on who has paid?

no problem appreciate the post. You might end up having to get two 18 ft sections because I haven't seen anyone interested in an 8 ft section. As far as the seam goes go with option 2 and give Bryan a call and see what he would charge you. They are very reasonable.

Is the roll 10m wide so size has to be 10m w x Length ... if so is there is a join at 10m if go for 13 x 13 for example?

I have a 10x10 cage but was thinking of 13x13 raw, so I can move as needed when ball marks start coming visible.

Also, can you let me know how I pay on PayPal (sorry have only used PayPal as a click and pay before rather than specifying a vendor)

I'm in NY and Georgia over the next 2 weeks... if that helps with potential pick up??

Fabric won't be ready until mid to late February. 10 ft wide by 120 ft long. If you want 13 x 13 you will have a seam. PayPal sorry I not sure how to do it..but someone else who has sent payment already can help I'm sure.

Yes it would be 24 linear feet and I'll deliver it to the finisher. Did you talk to ga stage to get a quote on sewing it together?

ive received some payments with exact amounts and some payments slightly short or slightly extra. So I think there is a way to send with and without fees but I'm not sure exactly how much the fees are.
