Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill

As a cost sensitive person attempting to build a high quality simulator, I realized purchasing the correct impact screen is critical to both the simulator's overall performance and it's price tag. It should be affordable, durable, seamless, impact resistant, have minimal bounce back, low noise, and display HD quality images.

West Coast Netting, Par2Pro, Foresight, Carl's Place and others listed in various forum threads all sell screens but none actually manufacture them. Buying second hand increases cost and my goal to buy the highest quality materials at the best possible price can only be accomplished by purchasing direct from the mill that manufacturers the fabric.

After plenty of research I found the mill that's manufacturing the impact screen fabric for Foresight, Carl's Place and others. The mills highest quality impact screen fabric is a heavyweight knit polyester sold only in 120 inch x 40 yard rolls. The raw material costs $56/yard without shipping.

40 yards is clearly too much material for my simulator so I'm looking to get a group of us on the forum to split a roll.

I received the screen back from the sailmaker who was finishing it for me. He did a great job and matched the dimensions of my archery screen including getting the grommet holes in the right positions so I could simply overlay the HD screen over my existing screen.
I have attached an image so people can see what it looks like. I have a Benq MW826 ST projector which is WUXGA and am really happy with the image, it is a good upgrade over my archery weave screen. A very big thanks to Daniel for all his hard work , very much appreciated.

Looks fantastic and enjoy!!! Curious how far your side curtains come out as I am in the middle of my build and trying to gauge the best distance from screen to protect shank shots from kids, drunks, etc. Thanks!

Best way to protect from those guys is give them almost golf balls!

The screen is very good, absorbs the golf ball impact well , with less dimpling after a shot compared to my archery screen, it is also quiet not noticeably louder than the archery weave. My screen is suspended from tubular steel frame on all 4 sides by 80mm ball bungees so it has give in every direction while maintaining a decent tension. I was very happy at the level of bounce back using this method. Its hard to see in the image but they are not side curtains. As my enclosure is right up against the side walls curtains would probably not given enough protection so I had net made for the roof and side panels which are about 5ft deep. Then I had foam panels made which are a nice snug fit between the uprights , captured in place by the net and then I covered the side panels in black auto carpet.
At 5 ft deep I don't think that is really deep enough to totally protect from shanks or beer fuelled buddies, If that was a real worry I would try and go a bit deeper. I would have made mine deeper but did not have the space.

Jaus I'm sorry yours was the last to cut. I can give you a 10 ft section that has a small, intermittent horizontal line on one side of the screen. its about 1.5 ft. from the top of the screen. Only noticed this defect on one side. If you want me to give you a refund let me know. If you still want it let me know.
