  • Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill

As a cost sensitive person attempting to build a high quality simulator, I realized purchasing the correct impact screen is critical to both the simulator's overall performance and it's price tag. It should be affordable, durable, seamless, impact resistant, have minimal bounce back, low noise, and display HD quality images.

West Coast Netting, Par2Pro, Foresight, Carl's Place and others listed in various forum threads all sell screens but none actually manufacture them. Buying second hand increases cost and my goal to buy the highest quality materials at the best possible price can only be accomplished by purchasing direct from the mill that manufacturers the fabric.

After plenty of research I found the mill that's manufacturing the impact screen fabric for Foresight, Carl's Place and others. The mills highest quality impact screen fabric is a heavyweight knit polyester sold only in 120 inch x 40 yard rolls. The raw material costs $56/yard without shipping.

40 yards is clearly too much material for my simulator so I'm looking to get a group of us on the forum to split a roll.

Please advise any interest or questions.

  • I don't know why you guys keep replying with orders when he said all future business will be from the website he's launching. Just sit tight.

if using Fedex, which option do I choose for pickup? (Pickup/ schedule a pickup/ drop off ??)

for or pick up address - is this the same as before (Decatur GA30030)

Fedex express saver, or fed ex home delivery seem cheapest.... assume I can use either?!

Thereafter I think I just email pdf of voucher ???

        cheers

        - anyone out there who can help... as keen to get hold of my new screen.

        thanks

I’ve never done it but I looked up the process and it seems pretty easy on ups. I’m waiting on my screen also. Have you heard anything? Is your boxed and ready to ship. Because I said I would take the 15x9 instead of the 15x10 I already paid for. But I haven’t seen any updates Since he posted about the fabric being damaged.

Hi Jeff - thanks for the response. Mine was already boxed and ready per DbG earlier post, and not one of the damaged ones mentioned. I have worked out how to get the label... just waiting to confirm with DB on pick up address before buying and emailing.

      • Following this thread to order from site when available.

        • Daniel, My impact screen has made it all the way up here in Canada! Thanks for following up and getting the required commercial invoice and resending with UPS. It is a great quality screen - much thicker and quieter than I even expected. Thank you so much for all the extra workload you have taken on so that we can all enjoy a premium screen at crazy low cost.

It was way back Sept. 22 but had a number of set backs - PayPal fees deducted so had send difference, misplaced label, misplaced box, and missing commercial invoice. Hope yours goes smoother

        • Does anyone have Daniels contact info? He hasn't been online in 2 months.

anxiously awaiting any word too -paid back in early October

        • I had sent him email close to new year but have not heard from him. I am one of those folks who is willing to take the leftover screen from his last batch which he mentioned had some bad spots and won't be the exact size that I needed.

          • While everyone appreciates the efforts made by Daniel to provide a less expensive quality screen, the lack of response is getting worrisome.
We were told that a website for ordering and tracking would be setup in January. There has not been any indication that that is still in the works.
I ordered my material and paid for it in October. I had hoped to have my sim up and running by now, but I don't have a screen.
I don't think it is unreasonable to expect some kind of status update.

Thanks for the info. I will try to call tomorrow.

            • Did you pay PP goods and services? If so, file a dispute. I think they changed their terms to like 6 months or something. If not, call the business as mentioned above.

              • I agree with lpott6 in sentiment, however you did say back on November 27th that you were fine waiting until January. And to be fair, it is still January.

Let me know if you do a PayPal dispute though (which you are perfectly within your right to do so), because I will take your section!

I did say that I would wait and yes it is still January for 1 more day. All I'm saying is that it takes 2 minutes to login click on the thread and say "Hey guys, I'm still working on the website and more material is on the way."

Yeah, all I want is an update. Back on nov 27 he said some of the screen he had left was damaged but had smaller sections that were good. I emailed pm’ed and posted on the thread that I would be fine with a smaller section as long as the rest of the screen was still good. 9 and half weeks is a little much with out a response.

              • Not saying that it's right but for what it's worth, I was in the 1st batch of purchases and didn't hear from him for a couple months but he did eventually send mine. He may be busy and he's definitely not a scammer as he's made many guys on here whole including myself. For me, there was some miscommunication with the shipping process on how the labels would be sent. His email is dbgolf72@yahoo and his name is Daniel.

That being said, I purchased 2 screens and would be open to selling my backup if anyone is interested. It's 12.5' by 10'. Just PM me.

Yes, I had an email conversation with Daniel and he told me a new shipment was arriving this week. Not sure how long it will take to unpack and be ready to start filling orders, but I expect it won't be too much longer. I will post here when I know more.

              • FYI I emailed Daniel and got a pretty quick response the other night and he shipped out my screen and it arrived today and looks good! (salamagundi from Oct 7)
