Had a little more time today. Got the pendant wiring extended over to my switch box.




The grey flex conduit was the new wire to extend the pendant controls. The MC cable goes up into my attic where I'll use it for the lights.
Here's the switch plate with both switches so you can run the hoist safely from the side.

They use the AR111 bulbs recommended by Protee, I'm planning to remove the lens cover from them. Hopefully that'll work for me.
Also ordered room divider rails for my side curtains.

Did up the screen frame yesterday and this morning. It's made of 3/4" structural pipe and fittings.



It's designed with a hinge on the left side so I can rotate it open if I need to get at the breaker panel or hoist for any reason.



Also started hanging the west coast netting archery net, but I ran out of long zip ties 😠

Decided to put up the lights too.
I've got two of these trim kits


And two of these AR111 bulbs


Just cut out the holes in the ceiling and pop them in. Ran wire over to where my MC cable from earlier is in the attic. Just need to pick up the transformer and connect everything now.


I like how they look, plus they can be aimed if I need to tweak things a little. They ARE NOT insulated, so if you have an insulated ceiling these won't work for you.

curious.....what will your screen dimensions end up being and what model projector will you choose. I've been doing a ton of research on projectors and trying to find one that will fill a decently large screen from the 7-8 ft range...to keep me from casting shadows on the screen. Think the ViewSonic PJD5553WLS is the best fit I can find. Just curious what you're finding will work for your set up.

GratefulRed- thanks man!! Not sure about the mad skills, but I appreciate it. Honestly I haven't been planning it out as well as I should and have had to rework some stuff along the way.
My screen is 150" diagonal (120" wide) 4:3 aspect ratio. Was thinking about Optoma GT1080, numbers look pretty good when I check projector central. Recommends a 6'8" throw which would be between my lights in front of hitting matt so it should be good for shadows.

Finished up the netting. Got it snug, but I wouldn't say tight. Basically just took the slack out of it.


Also put up the room divider track and one of the side curtains.



It's supposed to be a 10'x12' mesh tarp. But the 10' side is only about 9'7".

So I'm gonna take the tarp off and rotate it 90 degrees. I didn't need a full 12' length anyways. Then I'll trim it to length as needed.

2 questions...
How are you going to protect the bottom part of the frame?
Is the 3/4 piping thick enough? It looks like it's dropping in the middle at the top now that you've got the net attached?

After I get the screen up and have the turf/carpet in I was planning to either buy the mattress wedges I've seen folks on here use or make foam rubber padding wrapped in automotive carpet.

As far as the piping it's definitely not bending, it's very heavy. This is structural pipe, not EMT. The joints are just setscrew compression joints so what you're seeing is either from the camera angle or there is a slight angle from the joint on the top right.

Flipped the curtain and installed the other side. I'll need to figure out a way to hem them up since they're too long now. That should be easy though.

I like your planning and implementation. I have been there with my fixed setup (not fold up). A couple of suggestions. I think spot lights work better that floods. Don't hem the sides until you have hit a bunch of shots. You may want extra material there. Finally, the bottom of your frame will be a pain with balls bouncing back at you. To hang the screen and net you do not need a bottom edge tied down. The only reason for it in your setup is to allow for you to swing it open. You could move it to the back wall with some 90s. It would be much easier to undo one side of the net than to dodge the bounding ball. Some things to consider. I know I ended up changing my setup several times before i got it perfect.

Thanks Boerdoc! Any particular beam width of spot light you've found to work best? I think mine are too big, was thinking of trying 12 degree.
On the curtains, I was just going to use safety pins temporarily until I get some run time. I agree completely with your suggestion to leave the material for sure.
I'll think about the bottom rail, I do hit more than my fair share of worm burners!! Was planning to have padding there as a trim panel but will consider removal too. Keep the suggestions coming if anybody sees anything I'm definitely open to ideas.
