Thoughts on the divot action? Thinking about picking up an insert to drop into my existing turf. Also, any idea of the height of the divot action?

Just received my Quattro piece from Anthony and laid it into my CCE. I got to say, this is a huge improvement over my fiberbuilt strip. I like many others got fed up with how hard the CCE is on the body and went to the fiberbuilt, BUT hitting off a hairbrush is not a good way to practice and improve ball striking. I like this mat so much better. Highly recommend!!!

Tonysmjc, thank you for the mat! The jury is still out for me. Impact is pretty hard and I feel like I get away with some fat iron shots. My favorite surfaces to hit off of so far are the “fairway” and “rough” portions of a cheap 3 surface mat I bought from Amazon. I didn’t actually mind hitting off of my CCE but was starting to get a little achy in my left elbow.

There's something about the structure of this mat that intrigues me from an impact perspective. I can see where a whole mat wouldn't be necessary, and in fact might be detrimental due to the amount of "cushion" suggested by drscho pic above.

I'm not so sure my original setup is so terrible. I'm 250#. I had a 3x5 Matzilla that I set UNDER my thin Net Return Pro mat. Balls roll back up like a ramp,. I got cushion, and with a mat-on-mat, I don't sink in like when I stand directly on the Matzilla.

I'd say it's more like a driving range mat than a fiberbuilt. Like your club could skip right through he turf and make decent contact but I havent taken full shots off it yet to really test it. I want something as punching as the all turf but less squishy and club grabbing

Completely different from fiberbuilt. I have both and prefer Quattro much more. I do think attack angle matters...if you are steep and take massive divots, Jwheels is correct, you will bounce. Fiberbuilt allows you to.go deeper, but its very unpleasant if you hit the hard plate bottom where the fibers are inserted.

I got my Quattro mat piece last night. Thank you again, Tonysmjc. I like it, but I do find it a little bit hard. It does feel like a tighter contact with the ball than with the Fiberbuilt; but I'll probably delay using it for a while because I'm recovering from left-elbow injury from previously using a cheap Maxfli mat. I'll continue with the Fiberbuilt for now.

I like the tighter contact of the Quattro but my concern is if the hardness could cause injuries in the long term...

I've got about 200+ balls hit on the Quattro now, some additional thoughts. Getting increased iron distance and spin on skytrak vs my fiberbuilt. I think this is due to better compression enabled by Quattro. Also noticed a complete elimination of skytrak misreads. I think the phrase "tight" is correct and better for skytrak.

That being said, it is a hard mat and I think this is the trade-off. It is somewhere between CCE and fiberbult in my opinion because it doesn't grab like the CCE. Bottom line...a gel based solution is probably better but I am very pleased with Quattro. I do recommend moving the skytrak around so as to minimize wear on a single spot.

I wonder if you put it on top of some soft gel or foam if it would soften it up a little. Of course this could cause other issues with leveling it with the stance mat. I'm planning a 2" raised floor so I could probably set this on top of 1/2" of something.
