Anyone on here use the fiberbuilt inserts for their mat? I currently use a CCE hitting strip inserted in my old Optishot hitting platform and am exploring other options. I have a steep angle of attack and take big divots in real life. This obviously doesn't work well with a firm mat like the CCE. The fibers just grab the club and its wreaking havoc on my left wrist. Does the Fiberbuilt surface provide a little more gentle impact? It seems like there would be a little more give in it. I realize it wouldn't provide as good of a gauge of fat shots, but that's ok with me.

Just read the graphite shafts thread that Keither started and sounds like Fiberbuilt would help with the joint pain. Think I'm going to order 2 FB fairway panels to replace my CCE strip.Last edited by Vincent_Vega; 03-10-2016, 05:39 AM. -
I really like mine. I haven't seen very good videos online. I will post something soon on my mat. You don't have to pick it clean like most mats. I can clearly hit 1/4 inch or even 1/2 inch below the ball. IRL I like taking 1/4 deep divot with all irons. I don't have to change my swing because I am hitting on a mat.Comment

I have the Fiberbuilt Fairway, Rough & Sand panels I like them, don't use the sand though because of wher I have to place it.
To get them flush with each other, I had to raise the Fairway panel about an inch and have to put the Rough panel in front because if you hit deep into Rough panel, the club will hit the plastic base of the Fairway.
I am curious if there is a better hitting surface anyone else uses.Comment

Thanks. I put in my order this morning through FB for 2 of the 12" x 12" fairway panels to insert in my stance platform. I'll report back with how they compare to the CCE hitting strip. This definitely isn't a cheap route, the total was $106 after shipping for 12" x 24" of hitting surface. Much cheaper than the full size $500 FB mat I suppose. Will be well worth it if it helps alleviate the wrist pain I get from hitting off mats.Originally posted by GHRIII View Post

You will be happy with it. http://www.golf-simulators.com/FlooringEnclosures.html About 1/3 of the way down the page you will see a picture of an iron going through the mat. I hit down on the ball as well and have a hard time with most mats. If you step on the ball while it is on the fairway strip, it will be pushed down almost 3/4 of an inch.Comment

I may give this a try as well...hate to drop another $500 on a mat. Already bought a Monster Tee ($125...too soft), Country Club Elite ($400, too hard). Maybe this Fiberbuilt will be just right?
If I get it, I will likely get the full setup that comes with the heavy base pad. My CCE is just laying on concrete, and I have an issue that it moves around a bit when I swing. I am guessing that having the mat sitting inside a 120 pound rubber foundation should stop the movement.

If your buying the complete mat, it won't move. I have a lefty righty, with the fairway down the middle. During install, I remember cursing FB..... why so heavy? I love the fairway, I take a bit of a divot IRL and can totally duplicate this on the FB mat.Comment

Fiberbuilt mats can be ordered with holes for rubber tee holders - the type that take a regular tee.Comment
