They also have a new mat, not sure if it is released yet but it will take a tee. My has holes for tee holders. I used plastic tees that won't break.

There are many different types and combinations for Fiberbuilt mats. I think the basic module is 12 x 12 inches.
They are produced in Canada. Try and find their website and check with them.Comment

I haven't had time yet to do a full testing but in my opinion, the Fiberbuilt blows the CCE out of the water. It really allows you to compress the ball and hit down on it. CCE certainly provides better feedback on fat shots so if you're really trying to work on your contact than it might be the better option. But the CCE fibers just grab the club sometimes after contact even on a decent swing where as the FB lets the club glide through it. It's similar to hitting off a very lush zoysia fairway. The ball always sits up.
The negatives.... Skytrak users will probably want to stay away. Unless it's simply due to user error that I haven't figured out yet, my no reads went up ten fold when using the FB. I don't know if it's the blades of grass being too much or what. Anyway, I've got to do more testing there. Secondly, putting is a little weird on this thing. It can be difficult to hold your putter flat on this surface. The putter kind of wants to sink down in the grass.
Overall though, this thing is fantastic. Would easily alleviate wrist, shoulder, any arm discomfort.Comment

Too bad about the no-reads. Sounds like the camera must be seeing the blades of grass moving instead of the ball. Is it with all clubs and speeds you see no-reads?
I played 54 holes Tuesday and 36 yesterday..elbows and back are sore. I am guessing my CCE mat is slowly killing me. If you get the no-read issue figured out, let me know.Comment

I finally will have a lot of time tonight and this weekend to put it through the ringer and see if I can figure out the issue. So far it was mainly the putts and shorter shots. I'll second that, just put 2 12" squares into my CCE mat, works well and find fairway woods have a more realistic feel, and its a Canadian company too!!! Company is known as a "brush company" but the owner who is a golfer was looking for a better surface to hit balls because of the shock of hard mats!!!1Originally posted by keither5150 View PostComment

Sorry guys, forgot to update this thread with my results. I'll post a video tomorrow in here with me hitting off the Fiberbuilt with my Skytrak. Check out my post over in the Bugs thread to see that I've pretty much figured out my no read issue. I keep going back and forth between my FB and CCE insert. The FB feels great, but I'm still struggling slightly to putt off of it during sim play. The CCE also forces me to make good contact which should translate nicely to the course. But the FB is much easier on the joints, there's no question about that. I don't see any kind of noticeable difference in spin rate or launch angle between the two. I'm currently using the CCE for sim play simply because it provides a better putting surface. I'll probably keep the FB insert for range sessions and the lower wear and tear on my hands. If I don't, I'll offer them to someone on here at a discount for my 2 panels. Like I said, I'll post a video in here tomorrow night showing various clubs with the Skytrak and FB.Comment

Here's some footage of my first warmup swings tonight off my FB (poor swings at that). I hit a 7 iron, 4 iron, Lob wedge, and 3 wood. As you can see, the last shot with the 3 wood didn't register. This was mainly because I hit it so poorly that it almost went under my net. I'm skiddish hitting 3 wood due to the gap behind my FB panels in my stance platform. The CCE is longer than the two FB panels and thus my platform is still modified for the CCE. Overall, I get almost the exact same results as my CCE. I might get one or two additional no reads with the FB but that's it. For now, I'm sticking with the CCE due simply to wanting to improve ball striking and the smaller margin of error with it. The CCE is also better for sim putting. The FB will be much better for long range sessions however. Sorry for the poor video quality. I played with my settings to allow for quicker uploads and I think I watered it down too much.

I went back to my Monster Tee mat last night. My left wrist and elbow has been sore after several days of heavy practice on the CCE. Monster Tee is less dense and has longer fibers, which is great for hitting the ball, but causes it to feel a little wobbly to stand on. It also has no padded backing like the CCE, so really fat shots are punishing.
I'm on the fence with this fiber-built. I do like the idea of getting the heavy foundation to keep my mat from sliding.
I will probably stick with my 2 mats for now until I wear grooves in them and then look for something else.
So my next mat may end up being a franken-mat:
- Fiberbuilt foundation
- Cut my CCE mat to use as a stance mat inside the foundation
- Cut my monster tee to use as a hitting mat inside the foundation
