  • any ideas how to stop a moveable stance mat and hitting mat sliding around

    Hi Guys,

looking for some advice on how to stop my stance mat and hitting mat from moving around with every hit. unfortunately due to space constraints i can't permanently secure the mats to the concrete garage floor, so i need something that is movable.

Currently i have a 1.5m x 1m stance mat (the kind that you can roll up) this is sat on top of 2 pieces of carpet and 1 layer of foam impact tiles, this is to bring the height to the same level as my Country Club Elite 4ft x 1ft hitting mat which is sat directly on the concrete floor. i was thinking about some kind of wood sheet to glue everything to, but then i'm not sure if the wood would slide around ontop of the concrete floor, i don't really want to do all that work if it doesn't help.

any help would be much appreciated as i'm sure the moving mats is the reason for my loss of distance, slices, hooks, 3 putts etc etc.

Could you then staple non-slip rubber to the underside of the wood sheet you're considering?

You could glue everything to a plywood board and then insert removable pins through the plywood into the concrete floor and that will stop everything from sliding whilst making the entire mat movable.

I have the same problem with the mat slipping a little with each shot. I found something called gripcote that I've ordered that I hope will work. You can google it to read more about it. You actually paint it on the back of your mat and it's supposed to stop it from sliding. I don't know yet if it will work cuz I just ordered it a week ago and it hasn't arrived yet. I will post an update after I get it.

Unfortunately, Gripcote did not work very well at all.

non skid , it comes in various sizes with adhesive backing. Something like this below. Just put that on your concrete, mat will stop sliding.
