  • CCE tee options

So far I've been using real tee with my Country Club Elite, and I'm not sure if using a real tee is a novelty or something that is actually intended to be done over and over, so I figured I would post up here and see what everyone else is doing, as I'd like to avoid excess wear and tear on my $500 mat. I do know that they end up EVERYWHERE in my garage.

What are you guys using with yours?

    Tomahawk tees

I use real tees. I bought some Tomahawk tees, but the tees still fly out of the holder, so I went back to regular tees in the mat. And yes they end up all over the joint. Unfortunately I snap most of mine in half, which makes it even worse, because you are picking up bits and pieces all over the joint :-).

I don't remember exactly whose method I stole but it was someone on here. Tomahawk tees tied to Tee Claw tees where the tee claw acts as the tether. Works great.

tomahawk + claw tee for sure. I actually have some of the really long ones that I can use on the fiberbuilt mat as well (they sink in, so need to be extra long to retain tee height).

I use unbreakable tees inserted into the tee holder (1,5 inches I think) which just barely extend through the already punched hols in the CCE mat. That way you can use whatever tee height you desire.

The tee holder itself is also pretty much the correct height to tee up a club you would hit on a par three. The unbreakable tees last in excess of 100 whacks with a driver and stay in the tee holder while hitting so you don't have to chase tees after every drive. The tee holder itself usually lasts all winter before it deteriorates to the point the tees start to fly out when a driver is hit.

I do the same thing as you. I have the tee holder through the hole so its almost flush with the "grass" and then i taped a piece of braided fishing line to my plastic tee so i dont have to go looking for the tee around my garage.

I've been using the claw tee and tomahawk tee for a year now. I broke one lanyard and only because it got caught in the vacuum. See post 10 for a picture.
What is the best way to set the ball up for hitting off a tee? Also on the WGT have you had trouble with the system picking up the ball off the tee?

Real tees. I cut to them to different lengths and sand the tip on a belt sander. Works great. When they are just cut they cut end pushes the fibres down and that's bad.

Yeah its the tee claw tees I use not the tomahawk tees. Sorry for that :-). I looked at the link above and the combo used. Think I'm going to give that a whirl as well!

I've been using a justritegolftee with my Monster mat for three years now. Hasn't broken yet. I love it. I simply raise and lower the tee to whatever height I want. Nothing to pick up and super economical. I'm surprised more people don't use these.

Doesn't work well with ST since we "need" to hit from the same spot. Most don't want to hit every shot off a tee.

Ohhhh... makes sense. I have a GC2 and wasn't thinking about the bigger capture area.
