Totally Lost

Guys please help. Here is where I am at.

1)ProTee system on its way
2)enclosure will be 10w x 9h x 5d
3)This is a 2 car garage, so I have plenty of room.
4) Screen ordered

I am stuck on the projector...I have read all the threads and I am more confused than ever.

I believe I want a ceiling mount...don't like the idea of something on the floor in front of me.

Willing to spend up to $1000

What do I get?

Does the BenQ look good with normal ambient light? I have read some bad reviews on the Optoma being washed out despite more lumens...

I have the Benq. If there's a lot of light it is washed out. The op is getting a Protee so he can't have ambient light at all.

Ceiling mount and short throw are the only way to go. Projector on the ground kind of eliminates putting.

Everybodies definition of normal ambient light is different. Any projector will look better the less ambient light there is. That's why they dim the lights at the movies.

You will have better results if your sim space can be light controlled to the point where it is dark when no other lights are switched on. The ProTee lighting itself will give enough light to play in as well as still having a good image on the screen.

I have a ProTee and use an Optoma short throw projector.

Final note - get a 1080 HD projector. You won't regret it.you'll be getting maximum resolution at a reasonable cost.
