It looks like Flightscope is bringing an updated Mevo to the January PGA Merchandise Show. According to the brief blurb, this version will have skills combines and golf course simulation. Another exhibitor, Awesome Golf, is listed as a new simulation partner for Flightscope, and I assume that this is the software that might work with this new Mevo. Looks like something to keep an eye on!

I’ve been shopping for a putting aid/analyzer in addition to a full swing sim, so if this new Mevo can handle short game practice, I’ll probably buy it. The January show can’t come quick enough. I need more info!Originally posted by entrag View PostWow. If it is simulator compatible, I am thinking it should have spin axis and chipping/putting capabilities. Smart move if so, as it would be direct competition to the skytrack unit as it sounds like it would be the same price point.

It looks like this will have a June 10th release date and will be compatible with the Awesome Golf Simulator software. I'm guessing that like the Xi series which is compatible with e6 and Creative golf this won't read putts and will struggle with short chip shots. Having 15 data points should put it somewhere between the Xi and the Xi+.

I noticed in the picture of the mevo+ there appears to be a built-in camera. Would that be to assist in providing short game data? The X3 has a camera as well, and can provide short game data (I think?), so maybe there is some technology from the X3 in the mevo+?
lots of questions.... I am excited to hear some reports from the PGA show.

Awesome golf looks more like an arcade game than a serious sim tbh. https://www.pgashow.com/en/Exhibitor...ome-Golf-Suite

The tech is different too. The Mevo uses a far lower resolution radar frequency than the Xi family. It remains to be seen exactly what impact that will have, but along with being significantly less expensive tech, it's likely to be less accurate when it comes to more challenging measurements (e.g. spin).Originally posted by games View PostI sense the packaged software will be proprietary, thus allowing FS to justify the lower price of MEVO versus the Xi+.

I wouldn't expect this to replace current launch monitors. Pretty sure on the 15k flightscope u still can putt on Sim software. Without putting I don't consider it a SIM. Correct me if I'm wrong

It will read more parameters probably left and right ball flight and maybe club head info. Will cost just under $2000. It will be available to purchase January-February.
If you can use The Golf Club or E6 software I'd buy it but the "Awesome Golf Suite" looks really cartoonish. I'd rather do Skytrak. Maybe because the hardware required to run the cartoonish software would be soo minimal that it might be able to run on a phone or iPad. That would be a huge plus.Last edited by golfun2; 12-23-2019, 05:53 PM.

I would be shocked if Flightscope didn’t integrate this unit with E6, at a minimum. TruGolf and Flightscope have a long-standing relationship.
The idea of using Awesome Golf as an entry-level simulation software option seems like a prudent move. Right now only WGT offers sim play via iOS, so anyone who can offer decent competitor could easily attract folks who want to try sim golf, but aren’t ready to throw down for a gaming pc yet.
