    Very low spin

I've had my mevo+ a couple of days and I get crazy low spin!

7i-gw only gives about 4k spin... 4i gives 4k spin driver about 3000 spin.

I know from using other LMs I get about the club number with my spin 7k for 7 iron and with driver about 2100.

I'm guessing mat may have some effect but wouldn't affect driver.

Current set up is outdoor, 8ft mevo to ball 12ft ball flight.flight 18deg for the mevo. Indoor mode.

Also with driver my club speed is about 110 which is about right but ball speed 130-140.... Strikes seem ok

Any advice on how to sort out the low spin or is that just something we have to accept hitting off a mat?

    Thanks

Are you using the metallic stickers on the ball? Also what ball are you using? Is it your gaming ball.

my advice is to use metallic dot, with a good quality ball, possibly new, and clean the face of the irons and grooves well. Have you tried to see what numbers using short indoor gives you?

Make sure you're selected the club in use. If you are hitting a 7 iron, but have Driver selected, you'll see crazy low spin numbers. With metallic sticker, I see spin numbers within 1-2% of SkyTrak when hitting them both together.

Danny, What other launch monitors have you used?
What is your usual driver ball speed?

Hi, I use GCT with HMT quite a lot at my local course and also recently had a driving fitting on trackman. with 7i I tend to get about 90 club speed, 120 ball speed and about 7k spin. For driver at my fitting these were the numbers,

Club CS BS SF Carry Total spin
            SHORTER SHAFT 108.1 160.8 1.49 260.4 291.1 2485

When I use the metalic stickers the spin is lower than the estimated. I am using a prov1x. I havent tried a brand new one, but the one I am using is in near perfect condition

Any chance you were hitting of grass at your local club with your irons? According to trackman there is a spin and launch angle difference between grass and matts. It is a bigger difference than what I would have guessed spinning less (1928 rpm) with a mat launching higher (2.7 deg)

Explore Trackman's blog for data-driven golf insights, practice tips, tour pro interviews, and the latest in simulator and launch monitor technology.

The couple times I had extremely low spin numbers, is when I didn't change the club from driver, to wedge or iron. Made the switch and spin more normal. I see lower spin off my mat than when I did my club fitting off grass.

When I borrowed a Skytrak to compare to my Mevo+ the numbers were very similar.

It looks like your driver contact is not as good as your trackman fitting and could also contribute to the spin. 110 mph swing with ball speed of 130-140 is a smash factor of 1.18-1.27. Even if you swing speed was 105 the best SF at 140 ball is 1.33 Your trackman smash factor was 1.49 (160.8 ball / 108.1 club).

With you driver it could be indoor swing syndrome.

I don’t have your swing speed (I peak at about 110) but my numbers are the same on my Mevo+ and TM4 outside of spin axis which does show inconsistencies indoors where I’ve tested. I use TM4 once or twice a week and I’ve taken my Mevo+ for a few side by sides but I don’t have access to a swing speed much higher than mine (I will note my 7 iron is high 80s and can touch 90 with ball speeds in the 120s much of the time which sounds closer than we are on driver).

Mat can make a huge difference on irons (not only grass to mat but different types of mats as well). Try hitting irons off a tee and catching no mat to see if spin jumps up on good strikes.
