  • GC2 GSX & ProTee Inteface Setup for TGC and ProTee 2.0

Follow the steps below and in the next few post to initially connect your GC2 to GSX to ProTee Interface. Enjoy!

1: Connect your Bluetooth adapter to your pc's USB port using a USB extension cable. Run the cable into the sim room where the adapter will be as close to the GC2 as possible or within 6 ft of the GC2. After that, install the Bluetooth adapter driver that came in the package.

2: Turn on the GC2. From the right bottom corner of the Taskbar, click the up arrow to show all hidden icons. Select the Bluetooth icon and select Add Devices. See the screen shots below.

  • Captain, glad to here you are up and running. I recently ordered a GC2 and will be migrating my TGC from ST as well. The steps you went thru would be very much appreciated.

      • My GC2 connected to my bluetooth on the computer. However when i went to the com settings, it showed both com3 and com4 as being tied to the GC2 but both are showing as incoming. There is no outgoing. How do i change this?

        • I just had some issues with the COM settings on my bluetooth. It depends on which version of Windows you have. I have Windows10. You can remove the settings and try to reload them. On Windows 10 it is under "Other Bluetooth Settings"

          • I'm using windows 7. And I'm waiting for the response from Protee to get the license I need for the interface.

            • Can someone help? Only one com port shows up for the GC2 and it's outgoing only and it's COM16. When I go into GSX to associate this, it only goes up to COM15 so I can't select COM16. Not sure what to do here.

I've never had that problem but two options come to mind:

                1) Go into Device Manager, View Devices by type and see all the com ports. Delete them all and restart. You'd have to re-install any device that legitimately used a com port. If you know for sure a com port is legitimately being used by devices other thanthe GC2 then you can leave that alone to save reinstalling it.

                2) Or, edit the Registry to do the same thing. Sorry, you'll have to look it up to get the steps though since I've never done it. It wold involve starting Regedit program, finding the relevant keys and zeroing the relevant field (as per whatever instructions).

            • Ive been digging around on google, trying to find out how to assign a different com port to your adapter. No luck so far though

              • I just found this.

The directions are for a different adapter, but I would think they would be similar Here is the link, the information on how to change a com port for windows 7 is on page 22

Com63 is the example they used for the outgoing port

COM63 shown above is the USB Bluetooth dongle. UIf you wish to change the COM port number Ufrom COM63 to for example COM10 then you can do so in Device Manager. Right-click the COM port listed under Ports (COM & LTP) in Device Manager and chose “Properties”. Under the “Port Settings” tab click the “Advanced” button, you can here change several settings including the COM port number.

                No guarantees though

If it doesn't work, you can uninstall it and start over if needed.

I just re read your original post. I am not sure if this is what your looking for

              • Big thanks to Stingreye who got me going. We had to delete the specific USB bluetooth driver and let the generic windows one load when you reinstalled it. Still didn't work. Then we had to restart the computer to get it to work for these settings. Very weird, but it worked. Anyway, finally up and running. I think the flash may be on the way out though as it didn't read putts at first. Had to pull the flash, re-seat it and then it worked. Played a bit on the masters par 3 course, amazing difference on the short game with balls not running out on anything less than 20yds.

One, deleting the GC2 from the PC then adding it might work if it happens next time

Yeah we tried that a couple times, it seemed to really be hung up on the CSR Bluetooth driver. We deleted that driver, reconnected the usb bluetooth device and let the generic driver load. We believe that is what finally got it working, but we tried many things. so who knows.

Bubs had the same issue and removing csr BT fixed his too. I think he runs win 7 too. It also caused two incoming ports.

              • So I keep getting an error when trying to connect to the tgc server.
                See attached pic

can anyone help me with this

                • Did you change the default directory when you installed tgc?

                    no

I received some instruction from TGC this morning. They pointed me here. Basically im supposed to change the permissions in the program to gain full control

                    • Long story short, my mother-in-law needs a new roof on her house I sold my Kubota 3510 Tractor and all it's implements so I could put one on, the court that rules over the guardianship my wife has over her mother and her assets said we could not put a new roof on it. Seeing as how I had already sold everything before we found that out, my wife said it was my money and to go ahead and get me a GC2, which I did. works great with the FSX2018 software but as you can see from the pictures not getting a connection on the one port for connecting to TGC, I have tried swapping coms and all, has anyone got any ideas? Most likely an easy fix and I have just over looked something but it has been a long day. Also my hard drive crashed and I had to put a new one in my systems so I went with a new disk install of Windows 10 which has been a headache from the word go, but I have found that IMHO Pro Tee has some of the best customer support that you could ever ask for.

I had some major issuers getting mine setup. Protee said they had never see some of the issues I had. If you open up a ticket they will fix fast. Their support team is amazing.

                    • You have it set right. Windows 10 and TGC are not great together IMO. I had so many issues trying to get it to work I gave up. You can try removing the GC2 then adding it again. Next step is open a ticket.

Windows 10 isn't very good with anything, I swear they have a random number generator built in that hits on every install and determines how many bugs you get and which kind they are.

                    • I hate Windows 10, I get everything going and setup, and Windows 10 somehow gets lost in an update! Tells me it can not sign into my account and will only let me on my computer as a guest with no way to save anything or use the GC2 or any other software! Back to square one, only choice is to start over.
