  • GC2 GSX & ProTee Inteface Setup for TGC and ProTee 2.0

Follow the steps below and in the next few post to initially connect your GC2 to GSX to ProTee Interface. Enjoy!

1: Connect your Bluetooth adapter to your pc's USB port using a USB extension cable. Run the cable into the sim room where the adapter will be as close to the GC2 as possible or within 6 ft of the GC2. After that, install the Bluetooth adapter driver that came in the package.

2: Turn on the GC2. From the right bottom corner of the Taskbar, click the up arrow to show all hidden icons. Select the Bluetooth icon and select Add Devices. See the screen shots below.

I'm having problems here. I got a new monster pc to run TGC. I got the licenses and everything installed. I followed the instructions to a tee. I can't get data from my GC2 to my new PC. It worked perfectly on my laptop. Please see the pics. I don't know what's wrong.

Use The Golf Club must be ON in both ProTee Interface and in GSX under TGC tab.. Then try COM4 in GSX.

How do I get Com 4? When I click the pull down, there's only 3 coms

        Thanks Z

Yahtzee. That worked. Tiny slider. Missed that one. Lol. Birdied my first ever hole on TGC. Life is great.

            Thanks for the help.

Followed the instructions and got 'connected' on both parts.
I was a bit confused as in step 6 it says use the incoming port, but it's actually the outgoing port that's required. In the picture, you've selected port 3 which is your incoming. I read over the steps loads of times until I decided just to try port4 instead!
Seems to be working now - so thanks for the tutorial.

The last step is 'start up ProTee Golf'. Should I have an icon for this on my desktop or start menu?
              I can't see it anywhere!
My TGC was still downloading (very slowly!), so I was going to test out the ProTee range.
              I'll have another look tonight.

p3eps, did you find it? There should be a shortcut for the ProTee interface and one for the ProTee Portal for the ProTee courses.

Yeah - got it thanks! I was expecting an icon on my desktop to actually run the ProTee simulator. I didn't realise it was inside the Portal until I read the manual!
I downloaded the driving range and tried that out, then tried a couple of Par 3 challenges. My screen needs altered as it's too long. I have it pinned up, so I can only really hit 'high' shots until I get it fixed... so par3's were an ideal test! I've noted down all the advised settings, so I'll try putting them in tonight.

I tried downloading TGC 3 times, and each time it would get to about 600gb and stop. I tried again on my other PC using a download manager and left it over night. It seemed to work, so I'll install that tonight too.

I bought the advised Bluetooth adapter. When I switch my GC2 on, it automatically pairs with my Windows 8.1 machine. If I go into settings, it only has an incoming port listed. I have to delete the pairing and re-pair... and then I have incoming and outgoing. Perhaps I need to turn the GC2 on before the PC or something quirky to make it work?!

You're doing better than I am with the bluetooth! I still haven't gotten the GC2 to automatically pair with Windows 8.1. Instead of a box to enter the pairing code of 0000 for the GC2, I get a long code that windows asks if it shows up on the GC2?! Of course it doesn't, but it's a dumb computer so I lie to it, tell it that it did show up on the GC2 and it believes me and lets me connect. I occasionally have to delete the incoming pairing from port 3 and map the outgoing pairing to port 3 to get my connection to the GSX working too. Annoying but not terribly difficult. or time consuming. I have learned that I seem to have better odds when I have the GC2 on prior to the computer being fully booted up, although I'm sure it really doesn't matter. There is probably a way to default this port mapping but I haven't come across it yet.

Be careful shagging balls into a tentatively hung screen. That same thing went badly for me.... It's tough to be patient! Good luck!

I tried following the instructions a few times but I keep running into the same problem of "Status Input" being disconnected. Would appreciate some input. My Incoming COM Port is COM4. My GSX release version is 0.6.3 and ProTee Golf interface is 3.03g. Couple of screenshots:

Check your Bluetooth COM-Port settings and use the port that says "Outgoing" in GSX.

I've noticed mine sometimes takes a few attempts to connect, and I've realised it's because the GC2 is bordering on being too far away from the PC. If I hold the GC2 next to the PC, both input / output connect in seconds!

I've ordered a USB extension so that I can put my bluetooth adapter closer to the GC2. Currently it's only a couple of metres away, but it definitely makes a difference.

Finally got it to work. BTW, I'm using a Kinivo 4.0 USB Bluetooth Adapter. When I click on the GC2 icon in Windows 7, it says the GC2 is disconnected but the COM-Port summary says otherwise.

I regularly have problems connecting these days. The bluetooth dongle is about 4 feet from the GC2. It seemed to be much better with the previous version of GSX. Does anyone know if I can get a copy of the previous GSX version someplace?!

Since I put my bluetooth dongle on a USB extension lead it connects first time, every time. I don't even need to pair it anymore. Windows 8.1, and it just works!
