Just got Gc2, want to start playing TGC Simulator

I think the 'gist of what has been written before, is "It's a no-brainer" to get the ProTee software to use with your GC2.

I'd back ProTee up on the "trial license" - no need when there's lot's of experienced ProTee users vouching for their product. It works and it offers a ton of benefits.

Don't know why you think you can't "dial in your distances" with a ProTee?

For pure distance information you can do it extremely inexpensively with the ATLAS GST-3 or as it's sometimes called the Yupiteru Golf Swing Trainer. You can find it on the 'net. There are good reviews on the golf forums as well.

Follow ZMax's advice and get ProTee if you have the GC2.

I sent an email asking for a trial of ProTee too, and haven't heard anything back. I'm in Europe too, so wasn't really expecting a reply until after the 5th January - as that's when I go back to work.

Part of my buying a GC2 was to enable me to get an average distance for each of my clubs. I have a rough idea from using my Garmin on the course, but I was looking to get something a bit more concrete.
I was hoping to be able to hit say 50 balls with a 7 iron at the range, and take an average. And trying to figure out how hard to hit a 7 iron before I need an 8 iron etc. If this isn't possible with ProTee, then I guess I could just use the FS iPad app? I think it will give me an average per club? Obviously it's not going to be as nice as it being projected on my screen, but don't think it's worth paying for the Foresight Performance software just for this.

p3eps, you can use the driving range from ProTee to dial in distances. It will give you the average distance hit for the current club you are using in that session. What it won't do that FS does is actually allow you to see all of the stats for each and every individual shot you've taken during a session. This is a nice feature in FS but it's definitely not enough to give up all of the other benefits you'd see with ProTee. So yes, ProTee will allow you to hit 50 shots with your 7 iron and give you the average distance hit. Go with the ProTee. You won't regret it. By far the best bang for the buck for the GC2.

JV17 - thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm definitely going to go with ProTee, as paying per golf course with the FS software doesn't really sound appealing! I think I may just have to wait for my next paycheck since the last one bought the GC2 and the rest of my simulator stuff! Plus it'll take me a while to get it up and organised.

I've watched a few videos and ready all of the blurb on their website, but the driving range features seem to be pretty well hidden! That's why I'd have liked a trial to see what I'm actually getting for my money. I've read plenty of recommendations... but sometimes it's better to see for yourself!

I bit the bullet last night and bought ProTee. I downloaded the 11gb of data and installed it last night - and then emailed for my license key (and also TGC). Got the email back today with all the info, so hopefully I can get it set up tonight when I get home. I still have some more important things to do like wire up my projector, sort my screen etc before I can get online and play properly - but at least I can have a play around with it just now!!

I gave Foresight a brief test on Saturday with the demo. Seemed ok, but currently I can only really hit clubs higher than a 7iron (8, 9 PW etc) due to my net / screen needing altered.
Can't wait to get everything sorted and try playing a full round!

I have been running the GC2 with FS software for 10 months now, used to have the protee sensor, but found it all a pain in the arse setting the cameras etc and lighting issues, so GC2 is amazing for that. I did have protee 2.0 but go rid when buying GC2, in hinsight I should have kept the software. I have been waiting for the FSX, but been waiting 9 months for that now! Where can I buy the protee and TGC software from and does anyone have a recommended Bluetooth adaptor? I did play online with Zmax and Bubs a couple of years ago on protee, all guys here are great helps too. Also do TGC graphics look improved from FS or protee 2.0?

There is an entire thread on Bluetooth for GC2. Check it out... It'll save you time. TGC is WAY better graphically than ProTee and FS. Simply amazing. You can purchase the ProTee software online and they will give you a download. You can then request the TGC license from ProTee and you can then download that and you'll be all set. Good luck! You won't regret the ProTee repurchase once you start playing TGC!

ProTee will provide it for free with your purchase of their software. I own both as well. A word of advice if you pull the trigger on this. Use a different TGC gamer ID for the simulator version. You don't want your stats to get mixed together.
