  • GCQuad with TGC up and running

I listed the steps I took to get this thing going. I just got done playing a round at a famous course down South where a big tourney was supposed to be held this weekend.

Step 1: Buy this: https://golfsimulatorstore.com/colle...13246583636067 - this part is a pain because you need to install protee and TGC and wait for all your licenses to come via email.

Step 2: Configure protee as instructed in other posts. Basically - you need to just change 1 setting to configure it to external data

Step 3: Install GQSX.com - pm me if you need this

Step 4: Connect the Quad to the computer via wifi

Step 5: Connect to internet either via ethernet cable or another wifi card and bridge connections - this allows to connect to internet and qcquad at the same time

Step 6: Launch Protee then GQSX (click on connect) then start TGC

It should now work. No needing all that other stuff like you do for the GC2.

1.) Launch ProTee - be sure to configure the external data is set
2.) Launch GQSX - Hit the connect button and verify that all three are green
3.) Launch FSX2020 - I just wait until I get to the main screen then immediately minimize it. I do not connect the GCQ in FSX 2020.
4.) Launch TGC 2019 - Go to the range and verify that it works.
which quad firmware do you have installed?

    Let's see my method
    1. Start GC Quad
    2. Connect to Gc Quad Wifi on your PC
    3. Run GQSX
    4. Run Protee
    5. Club data ( if you want ) , click Connect GQSX
    6. Run TGC 2019 —> Practice Range
    7. Run FSX 2020 —> Settings
      1. Refresh until you see all connection mode ( 3 for me)
        • ⁃ USB C
        • ⁃ NET ( Ethernet)
        • ⁃ WIFI
      2. Unselect each mode and then select the Wifi mode --> Connect WIFI , it appears " Connected"
      3. Leave FSX 2020 by closing the window with “X”
    8. Enjoy your first TGC 2019 shot
Hope it can help some oy you guys
Sorry for my english, I'm a french guy !
    Thank You! This Worked Perfectly!!!
Is there a setting to turn down how much the ball bounces in the fairway? It looks like the golf ball is a rubber bouncy ball! lol
    Thanks!

No, that's the issue with TGC2019. The first bounce is very unrealistic.

Set terrain to soft or very soft. If you set it to firm or if the designer sets it to firm you get firm results.

    • Need a little help.

I followed along for a while and finally bought the golf club about a week ago. I’m all installed and running but very glitchy, I’m struggling to connect consistently, often times getting an error screen immediately after TGC2019 startup saying “ProTee SDK not connected or not working”. I think I figured this out, as I tried connecting everything from the desktop rather than pinned to the task bar. Haven’t had a chance to fully vet this but it seems my connections are more consistent.

the bigger issue is dropping communication from the quad. Once I finally get into TGC2019 and can start playing I’m on borrowed time, eventually shots stop registering while the quad still shows it’s picking them up, and the only solution I’ve found is to back out entirely and go through an already finicky start up procedure and hope that works, more often than not it doesn’t, and I rinse and repeat, eventually resuming my game with a half hearted effort hopefully just a couple minutes later but often 10 or 15 minutes and multiple restarts later.

I played two rounds today, I think I went through this ridiculous process 5 times, in all losing about an hour just trying to connect or reconnect.

ive ran ProTee both as an admin and not, I’ve left fsx open, I’ve closed fsx after connecting, I’ve had the fsx range open in the back ground... I’ve played in some regard under variations of all these configurations I believe.

      any help please

I have similar communication problem between GCQuad and TGC2019 occasionally. Sometime it didn't happen through several rounds, sometime it disconnected repeatedly after playing 3 or 4 holes. The easiest
way to solve this is push ALT+ENTER to leave whole frame and goest o GQSX, it still show "Connected", to disconnect and then connect again. After that push ALT+ENTER to go back to whole frame and the communication rebuilt. You don't have to restart everything.

      • Today I made an adjustment to my computers registry that allows the GCQuad to actually connect automatically, the second payoff is that I don’t have to run FSX now to run TGC 2019! My wifi connection to the quad seems more stable as well, for whatever reason. I don’t really understand the change made, it’s pretty simple and only took a minute, I just followed to instructions I saw.

I got the info from another members website and tried to PM them to get permission to post a link but their inbox is full. So, for now , if anyone wants to messenger me I’m happy to share but I am uneasy about posting the link.

You do have to run ProTee and GQSX still, correct?

Yes, I do everything as before except starting FSX and connecting the quad there then closing or running in the background. I tried it on a whim, it worked so I did another couple reboots and reconnects and it worked every time without FSX at all.

      • Is it possible to get TGC working with GCQ connected over ethernet cable or USB instead of wi-fi? So I can continue to use my wi-fi for the regular internet connection? Thank you

          Yes, use this software: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...nterface-gcqx2

Start ProTee, start GCQX2, click USB connect, ensure ProTee and USB text are green, then start TGC2019

Thanks -- where is the "USB Connect" button? Is that within GCQX2, ProTee, FSX, the GCQuad device itself? Thank you

            • Oh sorry I missed that I needed GCQX2. Trying now thanks

UPDATE: Worked great over USB with GCX2.exe program. Ethernet wired connection s still a no go but USB is fine. Thanks for the help

This is most likely a corrupted file. Delete and download again.

                    • What am I doing wrong?

                      1. Open ProTee (run as administrator)
Only setting changed was to allow for external data
                      2. Run GQSX, hit connect (everything goes green)
                      3. Open TGC

Sadly TGC doesn’t pick up any shots. Am I supposed to change and setting or launch a connection with TGC? Here is a screen shot of my ProTee & GQSX.

Use QSXQ2. The issue is the you need to run FSX with the GSXQ1. Here’s the link.
