I have seen a couple of videos about new FSX Play software being in the works. Has anyone heard anything about when they are expecting to release this? Looks like it would be a nice upgrade to fsx2020.

Gotta be getting close - installation page is up (well - the shell - some content is still FSX2020): FSX PLAY Download and Installation Guide | Foresight Sports

had a call with foresight today and they mentioned they're going to provide information in the next 1-2 weeks. current information is that it will be a $500 upgrade to FSX Play, and that they are increasing the price of the packages (GC3 anyway) by $500 to account for it. so you can either buy it now for 7k or in a few weeks for 7500

What kind of company comes out with a brand new product, and then a month and a half later introduces new software that they have been working on forever, to just turn around and charge those new GC3 owners more money? I get these companies need to make money but this seems like a real greedy move. I guess we will wait and see but I don't think they will charge the GC3/BLP owners.

FSX2020 was a free upgrade for FSX2018 with previous versions (FR1) allowed to upgrade. I am expecting a similar path with 2020 being a free upgrade and 2018 pay to play. FR1 possibly a full rate price vs upgrade. Will be pretty disappointed if FSX2020 users who purchased the software at full price need to pay to upgrade.

Who are these “many” people, other than a few people on here who are probably just speculating? Genuinely curious who these many people are.Originally posted by Baller View PostYes, we've already been told by many it's a free upgrade for 2020 users and as far as PGA, they are now Vista Outdoor/Bushnell so might have an integrated space.

No, not on here, but doesn't really matter. A company can do what they need to do and regardless, no matter how either of us look at it, it's all a guess until it's actually announced. Hope it's free, but if it's not, hope it's worth it.

The price for GC3 on foresight's Canadian site has already increased by $500. It would seem FSX play is coming soon and the $500 increase in price is true. Not sure about existing FSX 2020 users though.

It increased a week after the release. I think they did that due to the conversion and duty rates, not the FSX update.

I do see it's increased even more. I swear that a few short weeks after I ordered it increased slightly to like 7350 or something. But now at 7675, that's a huge difference from when I got mine, not to mention the conversion rate has dropped.

The Canadian website price increased yesterday. I purchased one in Canada as it was being updated as I was talking to the rep and said my quoted price didn’t match the website when converting to Canadian dollars. He informed me the website would update shortly (which I saw it had this morning) to reflect the higher price.
The rep had warned me in November he was expecting a price increase in January (at the time I thought it was just a tactic to encourage me to buy then).
I did not ask what happens to people that own FSX2020 already. I could see them going either way and giving early adopters the perk or charging folks. The email quote I have is clear FSX 2020 and Play are included along with 10 courses then with La Jolla in addition specifically for Play. To my knowledge others that bought earlier don’t have free upgrade in writing. I agree it’s not going to land well if they charge an upgrade fee but it feels likely.

I am one who got the free upgrade from FSX18 to FSX20, and I got the GCQ putting add-on free also, which was nice. I would guess that if FSX Play is going to generate revenue on a rolling basis (e.g., pay-to-play courses or something), they might give the basic software to FSX2020 owners gratis. If not, I don't think I can reasonably expect to keep getting free software updates forever, if they are major changes and not just tweaks.
If there is a major graphics upgrade and functional online multiplayer, I would gladly pay an upgrade fee. If it's neither of those, I would just keep 2020.

Looks like the download site is live: FSX PLAY Download and Installation | Foresight Sports
I am not on my sim PC so I cannot tell if there is a fee - I do not see reference to this. FSX Play courses (looks like 9 so far) are also listed as available on the FSX2020 software site: FSX 2020 Support | Foresight Sports
Has anyone tried this as yet?

Just had a chat with tech support asking about subscriptions since the release date there says January 26th. He said that page isn't supposed to be live (LOL) and will be fully functional tomorrow with the download link.
Unfortunately he wouldn't give me any details on cost or activation codes and said I had to wait until tomorrow.
